• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. ISO Grip help

I just picked up a 2008 GS and need bigger, more comfortable grips. I called Kuryakyn and was told that they have nothing available for the Can Am. Has anyone experimented with the ISO grips and found a set that works?
Mike

I put a pair on my wife's '08 GS with no problems, except she didn't like them, so I took them off. Wrap the handlebars with electrical tape to adjust how snug they fit. No need to glue them on.

I currently have Kuryakin ISO Grips on my '08 GS Premiere edition. Not sure why they would tell you they have nothing available for the Spyder. I've seen them on others besides my own as well. Although I do not have an answer for you, I can say that mine required no modification or special assembly to mount. Good luck on your search though :-)

so basically the answer is yes they have them and dont waste 70$ getting the name brand :)
just remember not to get 1" ones you need 7/8

I have them on my 2013 ST. The left side was easy, remove the plastic sleeve and wrap with electrical tape until you ge a tight fit. Throttle side was a PITA for me. Throttle return spring pops out when the end cap is removed resulting in many words directed at the spring until I found a post on the forum and that was fixed (Many Thanks). I used a small washer and the stock end cap screw to keep it in place. Next trying to fit a grip with a 1 in inside dia onto a throttle sleeve that was over an inch in diameter. Soapy water, alcohol no help. Sand paper plus draw filing and one wrap of elecrtical tape I got it on. Am I glad I did it yes, much more comfortable. Would I do it again after what I went through coin toss. Its good to hear that others had no problems must have been my unlucky day. BTW 7/8 grips marked on rubber insert .85 left and 1 inch throttle side.

odd i didnt have those issues on the throttle side but i have an 08 premier. I did have to adjust the cable a bit to get it to close quickly but thats about it. I put a layer of duct tape on the left side and it did help but i probably should have done two.

latony007,

Does the throttle boss work with the $25 grips from amazon? I was going to order the Kuryakyn grips tonight but if these work then I will definitely try these out. Thanks

Yes, i was a little bummed that the "off" brand, which appears to me to be EXACT to the kuryakyn did not have the throttle boss so i wound up spending 16 on the kuryakyn boss and only 23 on the grips :)
however much better than the all around kuryakyn which would be around 80 or 90

They are handlebar grips, for petes sake. 7/8" diameter handlebars--one side with a throttle sleeve. Just like any motorcycle except HD. Buy what you want and put them on. It ain't rocket science.

I apologize for being so curt. Maybe stuff like this just comes easier for me than for other folk. Carry on, life is good......

That's exactly what I found. The throttle side is tight as can be. I even tried Vaseline. No go. I'll have to work on the throttle shaft with the draw file. The left side grip is a piece of cake.
