• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

IS YOUR SPYDER YOUR ONLY TRANSPORTATION?

yes ...lots of bikinis.....I will take the heat and hurricanes over freezing and shoveling the white stuff....

Who shovels it, that is what 4 wheel drive is for. I am beginning to dislike snow myself, send us some sun in a bottle.

I agree and will take the heat that doesn't bother me and hurricanes over snow, cold and all the other crap that comes with winter. I moved here from CT in Dec 2001 and have no regrets.

It was back in 2004, when hurricanes were plentiful in FL and we were down at the beach, watching and listening to a reporter from the Whether Channel. He was sending out the alarm about the waves and surge picking up, while a ripple of water ran over his foot. Here he is reporting, while we were setting up our beach loungers just to his left, where we normally sat.

After the winter you've gotten this year, it would be great to send you some sun and warmer weather. It's been cold and windy here and Friday was the first good day we've seen in a longtime, with the temp hitting 58. Saturday looks even better with the temps going up to the mid to high 60s and the next 10 days look good. Hopefully some of this will get up to you, so you can park the 4 wheel drive and take the Spyder for a ride.

Last I knew snow didn't knock down buildings, and I have yet to have to board up my house against the snow. No thanks! I'll shovel for a few months a year as long as I don't have to chance losing the house it took me all my adult life to pay for. To each his own. :D

my cousin just sent me a picture of her house in Pittsburgh

its been cold lately, but no snow and warm enough days

Gonna get cold again in Florida next week...ya know, the global warming thing! Rain for us and perhaps some more snow next week in the NE...

Interesting how the head of UN 'Climate Change' resigned...according to the emails and more, what a dupe job we've been given! No longer is anyone calling it global warming, it's now 'climate change'...problem is that the planet has been in a cooling cycle now for about a decade...

I'd still take Florida over Maryland anytime, regardless of anything!!

Hey, it's still standing. :D I hope nobody was hurt.
no, everybody is still alive....the snow has been really heavy up there and the power went out for a week.....its back on now, but the roof damage is going to be expensive...she has homeowners insurance.....her husband works at one of the mills and pulls in enough to repair it without reporting it.....but the tree work will cost alot...all hand work, no cherry picker:yikes:

one of my brothers lives outside of D.C......The rents up there are insane....who do they think they are? N.Y.C.?:roflblack:

Been there...done that! We had a 30" diameter one fall on our back porch a week before my son's graduation open house. Had to jack it off the house, build cribbing to support it, then cut it up into small chunks while still in the air. Never worked so hard in my life.

If it were possible, maybe it would be our only mode of transport; I stopped worrying about proving how tough I was years ago. Seriously though, we use the Spyder 95% of the time. We get such strong winds on a daily basis that at times I just need the break. The bike doesn't get buffeted, but I sure do sitting on the back
We can use the Spyder for serious grocery shopping too since we have the hard Givi bags. We are talking wine bottles, gallon of milk, eggs, 10 lbs potatoes and other necessary stuffs. Also there was our 7 week trip with all our necessities. Anyway, hope we will all be on the roads again soon.

I've never boarded up my house as PCB faces SW and for a hurricane to come here for a direct hit, it would have to make a Right turn to the NE.

I will say we were on the wrong side for Hurricane Ivan that went into Mobile Ala and didn't loose a shingle. We did see a tornado go down the lagoon and take out one of our least favorite eateries and a few other buildings.

There is a shelf off PCB and I did see a hurricane hit that. The shallow waters caused by the shelf, split that hurricane in two and missed us completely.

While living in CT and Working for the 2nd oldest Newspaper in the country. We had a bad snowstorm and the roof to the Civic Center collasped. Fortunately no one was in the collusium, since the hockey game had ended a few hours earlier.

I worry more about tornado's than the actual hurricane. No boards on windows will protect you from one of those.

One of the last hurricanes from last year was heading here at first, than kept going west, where the warmer water was. From that we got a small tropical storm with wind gusts hitting 50 to 55 mph. For here, those are just normal summertime storms.

The guy that built my house was a retired Navy Diver and a Master MachinestMate. He knew what he was doing when he built this house with yellow pine, that is very hard and sturdy.

But like you said, To Each there Own!

Because my pre-paid :spyder2: maintenance ran out in December '09 at 12K miles, I have decided to slow the pace down and share the love with my new Honda ST1300. I also have a Hyundai Azera that I use for transporting the young ones around town.

I plan on using the Spyder or ST1300 for my daily commuting to work. :doorag:
