• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this a good kit/add on...

?????????

In my days with dune buggies there was extensive testing done and came to the conclusion that K&N and Fram filters let a lot of grit get into the throttle body and therefore the engine. This only takes a couple of hours riding. yes we dont ride Spyders in sand.. or do we ? Grit is grit. We are talking top end rebuilds after 4 hours.

Straight treated paper filters are VERY bad news. The aircraft industry learned that years ago.

Truck filters (18 wheelers) are the best (DUH) but they are very large. UNI type filters (foam) are OK but not great.

K&N is all marketing, like Bose sound systems.

Thanks for identifying all the problem products ........Now that we know what we shouldn't use ......Please tell us what we should use ???????....Mike

Hi Doug!
You bought the bike used: had the previous owner added any modifications to it that might make it run rich?
Clogged air filter, fouled plugs, or even plug wires that are failing could cause the symptoms.

No I think the bike was bone stock, less the taller windshield. I was riding yesterday and maybe its exhaust making my eyes burn a little. At hiway speeds really shouldnt be a factor I wouldnt think. Seems to me read somewhere they like too burn out exhaust gaskets..It only had just over 4000Km when I got it...D
