• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there more than one 'Missing Belt Guard'? Which is best? Are they worth fitting?

Is there more than one missing belt guard? If there is which is best. I want to order one for 2019 RT.

There's only one that is 'missing' - the outer / lower one. There are at least two different designs; one metal and one plastic. Most folks go with the plastic one from Spyderpops. That's what I use.

I just finished making an aluminum one and installing it. Wasn't difficult. If you have a jigsaw and/or bandsaw, those make the job even easier. To mount it, I drilled and tapped for 6mm X 1.0 flange bolts. I saw a YouTube video where the guy used double sided tape, but I prefer bolts for easier removal when servicing the belt or rear wheel. Before installing, I painted it flat black to make it invisible.

:agree: and did the same .... however I used galvanized sheet metal ... because mine was DIY, I was able to make it just a bit longer to cover more of the belt .... It's bolt on also ..... sorry but I'm not able to give a recommendation on what's out in the marketplace ... good luck .... Mike

How about that! I made mine over size too! Great minds.

Are these Spyderpops Missing Belt Guards worth it? Is there anything better?
Any idea where I can get one of these in Canada?

Spyderpops does international shipping if that's what you're asking. Otherwise, I'm not familiar with another vendor in Canada. But there might be one. Or, if you have the skills, you can make your own.

I ran the Spyderpops belt guard for about 10 years on my 2012. The thing is, it's one of those after-market products that is designed to prevent something bad from happening. And when nothing bad happens, how do you know what the reason was? By design, it should be effective, and the price is reasonable. But I can tell you from experience that it can't protect against very fresh and hot chip seal. But... what does? It is flexible and over time, all of that flexing and vibration will cause it to crack and require replacement. Mine did. And installation is a bit tricky in that you only get one chance to get the positioning correct because of the adhesive.

Rumor has it that the new Spyder Canyon has a much more effective factory belt guard. Don't know if it would fit, or be available, to later model Spyders. You might want to research that, also. As usual, it's your decision. Enjoy the ride.

To all you guys who have fabricated your own... would you mind posting a pic or 2 on your setup so that I can see how you did it? Shipping of anything from the USA to Australia is crazy expensive (just paid USD$65 = Au$96 for less than 2 pounds) so anything I can make myself is VERY attractive.

Thanks in advance!
