• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there any way to remove the Ryker's power limiter?

Hi All, just purchased a 2019 Ryker ACE with 4000 miles on it. I NEED help to remove the power limiter. Got the shock of my life trying to pass a semi yesterday. It did it once I got past the limiter but had no idea it was even there. Will not keep if I can't remove. I'm not very good with tech stuff so if you could explain like I'm a first grader, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Will purchase and install whatever works.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe read through this thread for your answer:

I'd say that what you are looking for is a Pedal Box or Power Commander. The computer controls everything on the Ryker. You can get rid of that, but then it isn't going to do anything at all. These devices alter the computer and you can adjust power output to your liking.

First is it a 600 or 900?
Second, with only 4000 miles, it is barley broken in!
Third, were you in ECO mode?

On the 900, the rev limiter cuts in at about 8200 RPM, over 100 MPH.
Other than when in ECO mode, there is no power limiter on the Ryker.
With the CVT, when you punch it, the revs come up faster than the transmission.
This takes some getting used to.
Hope this helps Raven/Bruce

The Pedal Box absolutely does not alter the computer. It alters the signal from the twist grip to the ECM.

Potato, Patato. I had to chuckle at this one. Of course, you are technically correct. My comment was meant to describe the functional outcome.

These units lie to the ECM. The ECM accepts the lie and 'Alters' the signal that controls the motor that actuates the butterflies, and the signal that controls the fuel injectors, and the signal that controls the ignition timing advance. In short, the circuitry in the ECM responds and adjusts its output based on the altered input from the throttle.

Technically, a true alteration of the ECM would be a software flash, which is more comprehensive and may not be rider adjustable. The only difference here is the approach. One is an external alteration; the other is internal. Maybe a good comparison would be the difference between medication you take, and surgery. The medication lies to your metabolism causing changes, surgery alters it. Just 2 different approaches to obtain the desired results.
