Is there a Garmin GPS GS/RS Spyder Icon for a Zumo?

Hi there everyone.

Just wondering if anyone has come across a Spyder GS/RS on-screen icon for their Garmin GPS, as a pointer?

I've been looking, no luck. I made a suggestion that they develop something similar and offer it to download.

I can create a custom pointer -- and did convert/create a Spyder 'Y' for use as a garmin pointer. If memory serves it just wasn't as easy to see and follow on the maps-- so I didn't include it with the BRP Dealer list that you can load onto your Garmin... which is posted out here somewhere.

I can look around for the "Y" pointer logo.....

You can load any photo onto the Garmin and use it for the Splash screen.

It would be neat to see the "Y" pointer logo you created if you have it handy, but no rush, no worries.

Thats cool! Is there special software needed to convert to the proper pointer format and download it to the unit? I could have fun with that!

I think you can do it with various software-- just have to meet the correct specs. Then I think have to combine it with a POI or something--- just can't recall right now. It was about a year ago and I got more wrapped up in getting the dealer list correct that I kind of put the logo on the back burner.

I'll check my files this week--- I know I saved it all because I never trash anything....

I think I found it. Quite intense if you wanna make it work in 3D as well...LOL

I use the winter warrior it has a three point stance and when you see it from the rear direction which is the most common it looks like the Spyder.It's in the garmin garage.

I found that one and was lookin at modifying it to put wheels where the skis were. I may use the blue bike and RC buggy instead and combine them to make a blue spyder.

OK, this is a quickie, and its silver. I realized after I was done, a few things:
The Black and white icons show up better with a border of white.
I only had the time / patience to make it show in 2D mode, 3D will still show the snowmobile.
Drag this attached file to the vehicles folder in your GPS and youll have a silver Spyder in 2D mode.
I may play around making it better and in different colors. Blue seems to be the best for showing up against both day and night maps.

Try compressing the srf and then post the zip file. By the way, do you have a file for a black RTS ?

I discovered after seeing it better on the GPS this morning, it still looks similar to the snowmobile I used. Ill tweak it a bit more and see if I cant make a Black RT for ya while Im at it!

Well, as of now its more difficult than I thought. I was trying to mod the snowmobile 2D part into a Spyder (top view) but it wont let me completely erase the front part of the skis and the sides in the back. It now shows them as black areas. Not acceptable!!!! LOL
Ill keep playing in my free time.

Supposedly, the steps go like this
Download an existing .srf file and convert it to .png
Modify .png file or create new one
convert it back to .srf
load it onto GPS

Thanks for the update. If you make some headway with the 3D version, then, cool, but if not, no worries, the 2D I'm sure will also be fun to use.
