There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. IS THE F3 LESS VISIBLE IN TRAFFIC?

This may be a silly question but, I have noticed the F3's look smaller than other models when they are lined up for pictures. I am planning on getting one this fall but I am wondering if the rider in a lower position has caused any visibility problems in traffic. Has anybody noticed an issue with this?

It would seem...

it does have a lower profile and therefore would be less visable than the other models. Mostly in hight and with a windshield installed becomes more visable... still pretty large object coming down the road...:roflblack:

I agree

It does have a lower profile and when I see another one on the road, I always have that "wow, that looks so small compared to the RT" thought flash through my head. I have noticed that cars don't seem to see me as well as they did when I was on the RT.

That said, they also don't seem to see me in our very large truck either, so I just figure my superpower is invisibility and I drive anything with the assumption that no one can see me.

The F3 suffers for the same problem as all other Spyders - -- they are not sufficiently lit to be safe during either the day or night. I believe that is why so many people add supplemental lighting to increase their safety. The F3 does indeed have a lower profile making it somewhat more risky but the even greater risk is the rear end similar to the RS and ST that doesn't provide sufficient room for proper tail and brake lights. Fortunately lots of aftermarket lights are available to fix this problem.. Sure some folks will say they should not have to spend more money after buying an expensive buy but you buy insurance to protect it and more lights are a form of insurance

...Dress, and accessorize your bike; to be SEEN...

I try and make myself so visible, that the seeing eye dog in the Co-Pilot's seat; would ALSO have to be blind, to miss me!

Extra lighting and hi viz options for clothing are advised. Dressing up in all black and driving a black :ani29: are not highly visible options.

My first priority with mods to F3 was adding lights: front/rear finders and top case (higher the light the better) running/turn/brake lights. My top case lights are at height of my toyota tundra headlights.

All added lights are very very bright LEDs.

We are invisible

We are invisible. Just ask the gal that rear ended me at a stoplight. And yes I had my foot on the brake. I was trying to stop for her.

low profile

I also own a 15 camero and have found people pull out in front of me as much as they did with my 2 wheel thing so cage drivers are not looking at much at all, have not had much trouble with the spyder just beware ride safe folks

All Spyders turn heads unless the cager is not paying attention. If that is the case, it makes little difference if I am riding my Spyder, my Sportster, or behind the wheel of my SUV. (Mitsubishi Endeavor... a very big steel box that has the headlights on all the time)

If they are looking at the phone, they will hit you.

Air horns are a good attention getter. I have one on both bikes.

As for people rolling up to fast from behind, I always tap the brakes to flash the lights and leave enough space to jet out if needed. SE6 or SM6, always stay in first gear at a stop.

Riding any kind of non-enclosed vehicle is a study in mitigating risk. My default position is thinking that all cagers are clueless and therefore I am invisible. I make my own safety island around myself whenever possible.

And yes,

White paint helps some also.

Was thinking about mounting the headlight off of an old CON-RAIL train engine.......
