Is it possible to Hard wire an iPhone cable direct to fuse box?

Wondering if it is possible to hardwire a USB cable directly into my fuse block so that I can plug my iPhone in and not use the one in the glove box?

As long as it's fused, I would not think there would be an issue. But why would you not put another port somewhere else on the bike to plug into that's maybe a little easier to use?

I put this on my F3 to keep my phone fully charged on long trips. It is direct to the battery, with a fuse, and it has an on/off switch.

Probably unnecessary..., I don't know what your riding, but you shouldn't need a special connection to the battery for an iPhone. If you were to do so, I think you would need an adapter and separate fuse (inline) to lower voltage and protect your phone. And, I've never located a fused accessory terminal on either fusebox.

I read that an iPhone has a max draw of 1.25 amps @ 5V. The factory USB line s/b adequate and your iPhone shouldn't blow the fuse, unless it's battery shorts out. I pulled the existing USB plug in my 2020 RTL glove box, connected an adapter, and fished it along the harness to my left cuff. It charged my Xs (& now my 13 Mini) and let me to use the "map app" while I ride; I've never had a problem.

Your post got me thinking. What about using a wireless charger in the glovebox? Run a USB cable from the trunk or some kind of adapter off the batter.

I added a separate fuse block from Lamonster for extra light, etc. I was going to go directly to that because it’s already fused and has additional connections for added accessories. I’m not sure what you mean by pulling the USB plug out and adding an adapter.

The iphone needs 5v USB power. You can't wire directly to the 12v spyder system. You need an adaptor, aka, USB socket to drop the voltage.

I think you might be making this harder than it has to be. IF you have a 2020, or newer RT, your USB connector comes through a grommet in the bottom of your glovebox, I poked mine back through and replaced with a solid grommet. Then I pulled the left panel off covering the air cleaner (lift seat, pull tab, it's just clipped on); look up & forward throught there, you will see your USB connector hanging out. Connect an adapter cable (USB to iPhone spade connector), then thread & zip-tie it along the wiring harness that goes the cuff; allow plenty of slack for turning.

A USB Data blocker will make the glovebox USB a power only port so you can plug the phone in without it connecting to the bike's dash.
