• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it possible to delete the start-up routine using BUDS/Mega?

I had an ECU Upgrade from Jase in Qld and the start-up routine was gone.

I had an ECU Upgrade from Monster and I think the start-up routine was gone (can't remember) but they couldn't disable DESS as Jase could.

I can now disable DESS but would like to delete the start-up routine as well...

Any thoughts?

Not that I can find. I have the Stage 1 flash from Monster FI on my 2020 RTL and the routine was bypassed. Our 2021 F3L has the same flash and the startup routine is still there...

You can also turn the key, hit the mode button right away and hit the start button. No need to wait for for the screen to show.

Even on a ‘14 RT, which the OP has, Shardt ?? :dontknow:

I believe that 'feature' showed up in '16 or '17. Earlier models had to wait.

My sister and her husband both have '14 RTLs. They turn the key ON, then put their helmets on while the bike does its 'thing', then they start the engines and leave. My wife has a '17 RTS. It's so much nicer to just turn the key ON, press the MODE button once, then the starter.

Don’t be too fast saying that Pete. I’ve ried that routine on my ‘14 RTS many times and I have yet to have it work. The only time that I can just turn the key and start it is during quick fuel stops....SOMETIMES!

Yes, that was the question I was asking, Brucie. I do not believe I have ever seen anyone with a ‘14 be able to do a “quick start” ;)

The police models from BRP are instant start...My 2014 with the Monster stage 2 flash is instant start...BUT I still need to hit the mode button to get the dash to display...BUT IT INSTANLY STARTS AND DRIVES/RIDES AWAY...larryd

I don't remember if I saw it in a manual or posted here, but I think you have about 5 minutes before the system completely resets itself, so a "quick fuel stop" might qualify.

Yup.....and most of my fuel stops are longer....that’s why I said “might” qualify.

If you turn on your Spyder as soon as you walk up to it, by the time you get your gear on, it will be ready to go also.
