• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

IS IT JUST ME?

Or are there major changes to this forum? Big yellow banner at the top when I log in, 5 or more pages of "What's New", (which aren't). I realize that there have been some tech issues over the last few days, and Lamont being ill, but things here seem really different to me. Anyone else agree/disagree? I have seen other posts about the tech side, but no opinions as to where the forum might be headed. Comments?

Yes, there are some changes. No, it does not signify a new direction for the forum. I'll bet this year's cars have a different interface than last year's too. Progress, not revolution.

Changes....

We now have an active site and server tech who is working on this place. Things will be fine but you are right things are a bit up and down but getting better...

A few tech updates, but I don't think much has changed. There have been no special directions to the new moderators either.

The yellow banner. My guess is it may contain notes to be read. My laptop has it but the IPad does not. Possibly it has disappeared on the laptop also.

Knowing they are making program updates I just roll with it.

Yes there now are multiple pages of whats new. Seems the system does not archive based on your last visit however, if you open a new topic and close it, not being new any longer it is placed is the applicable forum until someone elses adds to it.

A bit cluttery, though no big deal, and there is a dividing bar that shows where you last left off.

Personally, I like the changes I'm seeing. There are always new unexpected behavior changes in software updates but one you get to know them...all is good. For instance, the "What's New" isn't broken but has been broken into two new sections: 1) what's been updated since you last visited and 2) what hasn't been updated since your last visit BUT still relatively new UNREAD posts.

It's an age old process....

If something works, somebody has to get in there and fix it.:gaah: :banghead:

I fix my computer with a hammer :roflblack: and I'm OK with the new up dates to the forum. Maybe its because I use chrome system to drive the computer.
