• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1330cc Is it going faster now?

OK, so my '21 Spyder RT LTD I bought new, I'm beginning to start to get some miles on it (it was on vacation at the dealer for nearly 5 months but we won't rehash that). Just over 1,500 miles now.

It seems to accelerate much more quickly, especially when winding it on a bit on freeway entrance ramps than it initially did. I'm used to new motorcycles loosening up a bit as they get run in, but this seems much more dramatic than that.

I have had in recent times a number of BMW's and Triumphs from new and they all smoothed out a bit and seemed a little crisper in response as they get up to 1,000 miles or so. However, this Spyder seems much more dramatic in its acceleration and willingness to run up through 75 mph and beyond, 2 up, than when new.

Do the electronics on it limit the performance during the break in period, or is it all in my imagination? The willingness to pull in the mid range and pick up revs quicker I think is quite noticeable. It seems much more like the rated 115 HP now. I've had a number of Triumph triples, which were great engines, but this Rotax unit seems on par with them for torque and smooth power delivery, if not absolute HP. Considering how much weight it's pushing around it seems to have more than adequate power now.

Just my observation.

ya, your imagination.............you just missed the SPEED and acceleration, nothing can limit for a certain miles in your ECU

Thanks - I guess as I get older things just seem to go faster. I'm still surprised that it moves as fast as it does though, with only 115 BHP pushing 1,400 lbs ridden 2 up, it must be the mid range torque.

Out of curiosity check and see if eco is off. I noticed with the eco on its quick but eco off makes it more rapid. Just my opinion but I am probably imagining things too. I’m guessing when you purchase it eco was already set. Might have been switched off as you started lately and that’s making the difference. Just a thought.

ECO mode does slow it down a bit. You are right on.

ECO mode has always been off, but thanks for the heads up.

I think after riding it today it is that it has gotten a bit smoother as it has run in. As I spin it up now it is more willing to rev, as in turn I'm probably more willing to rev it. When it was new it had this rough spot at just around 5000 rpm or so that kind of put me off revving past that, but it seems to have smoothed out nicely now. The motor seems every bit as nice and smooth as any of the Triumph triples I've had. Lots of mid range grunt which I think makes it feel faster than it probably is.

I took my T120 out today for a bit of a blast and yes, the Spyder is not that quick in comparison -- not that the T120 itself is fast by any means.

The more I ride it, the more I like it, and the performance seems about right to match the handling, especially 2 up.
