There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it easy to Replace the Battery on a 2014 RT? Any Recommendations? Any need for electronics protection or reset?

Hey folks, my battery is OEM from 2014 and while it's seems to be working fine, I'd like to replace it so I'm not stranded anyplace!!
Any specific batteries that people recommend? Is it easy to replace? AND is there anything you have to do so that the electronics don't wig out after replacement (any reset, or similar?).

Wow, 2014, that was a great battery!
I've read gazillions of posts on batteries for our bikes. The general consensus is that the oem seems to be the battery of choice! I'm sure you'll get other opinions!

To answer your other questions. It is kind of a pain to replace the battery, but totally doable. The hardest part is the hold down strap. It take some effort and patience, but again, it's doable. There is nothing to reset. My personal recommendation is to make sure the key is out of range of the microchip antenna. It shouldn't make any difference, but I prefer to be safe and they can be fussy.

I'll refrain from any specific battery recommendations, that can get somewhat contentious. YUASA is a good brand. However, I will say do not buy an old school lead acid battery, stick to AGM or LiPO or such.

Yeah, I ordered the OEM battery that I have now - hey, it lasted 10 years (and probably MORE), so it can't be all bad!
Thanks for the help folks!

Just don't expect one of the current crop of dodgy cheap arsed Haijiu 300 CCA or whatever batteries from BRP/Can Am to last (or even work!) anywhere near as well as the Yuasa batteries with 350 CCA & 21+ A/hr capacity that were standard OEM fit up until about 2020/21, after which they changed to the cheaper & less capable Haijiu alternative!! 🤬

You know the old saying, they don't make them the way they use to anymore! Well Good Luck! (y)
