• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is gifting a Gremlin Bell still a thing?

Bell

I bought one with a Angel on it, had it blessed, and gave it to Murphybrown yrs ago on her 1st Spyder. She's safe wherever she rides, with a Guardian Angel watching over her! 🙏

the Bell with it...
I don't have one on my RT, although I think the idea is great.
What's weird is that the new TRACTOR, a couple months after I got it,
I looked underneath and VOILA! There is a BELL. This is like a 'new from the dealer' tractor,
and it has a bell. No way am I going to move it.

I was gifted a Gremlin Bell at Spyderfest this year. It was a prayer answered for me. I have been hoping for one since our first Spyder in 2012. We just got a 2015 and I still was hoping for one.

Out of the blue a gracious couple we met at Spyderfest, without even us asking, inquired if we knew someone who needed a Gremlin Bell or if we had one. I was like OMG---really? I said I'd take it and I have it now.

My deal is where do most of you mount your and how do you mount it so it stays on?????

Thanks! ;) God does work in mysterious ways- let me tell you!
Here is a picture of where I put the Gremlin Bell on my Spyder:

Redone farkle on 2014RTS-SE6 001.jpg
This is on a 2014 RTS-SE6, on the left side. Mike (Blueknight911) used a piece of wire, and wrapped it around the plastic air grill (below the chrome piece that says "Can-Am"). Someone gifted me the gremlin bell.

I also have a gremlin/guardian bell on my '03 Guzzi but none yet on the RT. The last few I bought off of Amazon. I think I will buy a bulk in brass from the link from post 7. Not a bad idea to have a few extras on hand to give out to a ryder or rider in need. Like you say, pay it forward.:ohyea:

I've always had the bell on my bikes for 30+ years a few years ago I got a ZX14R being the bell is supposed to be given to you I had not put one on. On the 5th day I went down at over 120mph. ( yes I know. I shouldn't have been going that fast) anyways I've lived life a 1/4 mile at a time. Thing is I still swear the only reason I went down was I didn't have the bell on. I mounted mine on the a arm. As close to the ground as can be. And make sure all I ride with has one..

Cross and Bell ???

My wife and I received a very beautiful cross and blessing card in a little pouch from a nice lady in Niagara Falls a couple years back and I'm not allowed to even go to the store one block away without it . I like the idea of the "double power" when gifting the bell. I wonder if the cross AND bell combo could be some extra protection ?? :dontknow:

Gremlin Bell, Got it Joyce47

I will let you know when it arrives. I had one given to me years ago when I had my VTX 1800, and it came up missing after I had the bike serviced. It will be nice to have one again on the Spyder.

You may have started something here! Just might see a "Pay it Forward" SpyderLovers style.

Thanks Again, Joyce47

I was a bit late checking the mail (chasing the Grand Kids playing ball), but I have the Gremlin Bell. I'll mount it with my RIVCO pegs soon as I get around 2-it.

Thanks Again 👏

Next cycle shop I stop in, I'll grab one and we will see how long this will go on for.

I have looked for several years for gremlin bells made of sterling silver with no luck. All the bells I've seen out there are made of pewter.
Yesterday, I added a set of these to my RTS.

I figured they would do for a while. Yes, they are brass.

Maybe that's my problem with my shifting, etc. No gremlin bell. I was
gonna take it off my Victory when I sell it. Glad it's still here, it gives
us something to ride.

I ride with two attached. You can't be too careful these days and since nothing has yet happened it is obviously working.:doorag:

I think that the story about them is best-explained here:

http://www.gremlinbells.com/

Bob, that is a very good explanation for the actions of the Gremlin Bell, but I want to add one note that I have been previously told that is not on that site.

Once the Gremlin is locked in the hollow of the bell and caused to lose sanity by the ringing, they drop from the bell and cause what we see as potholes, when they strike the pavement. Now you know what causes those as well.

:popcorn::gaah:;)
