There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Is $14.9k for 09 brand new leftover a good deal?

See if you can get them to throw in the BEST warranty. If they go for that? Buy it!

:agree:

You should be able to get a deal like the one Dragonrider got - or something equivalent. "I paid $14.6 for a new '09 last June - which included the full BEST warranty, 6 spoke rims, and tank bag (installed) - out the door. The other stuff doesn't matter out here - $50 title & three years license and no tax…"

That is pretty much what I got on my 08 SE5 (silver) over a year ago.

ken, did you even talk them down ? That's the lowest i've heard. I would love to find a deal like that, I'd be an owner already.

Ken found it slightly used from another member on this forum. If you buy a used one you will not get the free BRP accessory money, and most likely not the BEST warranty, but you could save a bunch of money. You can check the 4 sale section on here or EBay as well.

I paid $13.5K from another member on this forum for my wife's 09 SE5 with only 430 miles on it. Considering you are getting a new one from a dealer, if you can talk them into adding the BEST warranty for free and you will get the $1K in BRP accessories or clothing, $14.9 doesn't sound too bad at all.

Best of luck finding the Spyder that is right for your budget.

Someone has to pay the tax unless you buy from a private owner and the dealer is not going to do it. In Ga if you buy from a private owner you still have to pay advalorem tax which is an annual owners tax or property tax based on market value or about $80 on a 09

Much better than SC where I had to pay the state maximum of $300 sales tax, and then they hit me for $560 personal property taxes. :yikes:

Oh yeah, welcome to the site as well.

That sounds real good to me. I paid $17,500.00 for my leftover 2009 SE5. That was with $1000.00 off (so they told me). It did not include tax, title, set up fee or any extras. I ended up paying just a few dollars short of $20,000.

I think your right sarge, the spring is when people buy and is riding season so the $ goes back up again,.

Thanks for the welcome wolf. 09 se5 u got for 13.5k was a steal.

I don't think getting the extended warranty will be an issue.

They sell the BEST warranty on ebay for $760 for extended 24 month and $890 for 36 month , if memory serves me right.

I've emailed dealers for price quotes today. Hopefully they reply tmrw.

As far as getting $1000 worth in free stuff, they hadn't even offered it. :dontknow:

Think about how much time you are putting into getting a Spyder...sometimes just paying a fair price is good enough as time is sometimes more valuable than saving a few dollars here and there.

I used to hunt for the lowest prices...now I just try to get close. I get tired of looking and going all over the place to save a little money...with the Spyder, if you intend to keep it for several years, a couple hundred bucks ain't gonna make a big difference.

Better you get one and get on the road...enjoy it...IMHO...

:agree::agree:Get close, and get riding, Keep trying for the lowest price you'll be watching other people riding bye you for another year.[with a smile on their face] Remember if you say you got yours for 13 somebody will probably post they paid 12.:ohyea:

Bone i undstand what u are getting at but people are saving anywhere between 1-2k, PLUS accessories/extended warranties even on the SE5 models. I don't consider that "little money". I wish i could just throw money around like that.

I pride myself on getting a good deal and i think it would make owning/riding a spyder that much more enjoyable. Especially if i will have the extra coin to put into it.:D

do what is right for you

Anyone watching this forum for the past year has seen some great and not so great deals go by.

Most important add-on is the Extended Warranty - and if you can get it - the pre-paid Service Warranty. If you ride a lot, this will save you some big bucks. If you do everything yourself ( as much as you can ) it can still be a good deal down the road. Since these Service Warranties are done by the dealership - they may really deal on that.

Not a question of throwing around money....of course you want to get a good deal...however, sometimes people labor over such a small amount that it's simply not worth it.

I don't think you'll find a $1-2k difference on your bike...there's a markup, but there's only so much of that left on a 2009 that is already reduced. Get the dealer to a price that you're comfortable with, and get the bike.

I enjoy the negotiating process but I only go so far. I like my dealership and want them to be around for a while. If I nailed them to the pole with everything I buy from them, and everyone else did the same, they wouldn't be there anymore. Look, we all like good deals...however, the dealership has to make some money to stay in business...I do not fault them for this and I look for 'fair' pricing.

For example, I bought my hard bags and comfort seat from my dealer when I had my service done there...they were also doing the second update. I didn't bludgeon them to death over the price...I got a very fair price. Well, as it turns out, they didn't have the plate necessary for the parking brake fix...instead of telling me I'd have to return (each way is 70 miles for me), they took one off of a demo and put it on my bike. Perhaps they extended themselves because I am a good customer who values the relationship as much as the cost factor...they didn't feel obliged to help me, but the quality relationship might have helped...if I beat them over the head to get everything cheaper than they pay (which is what people ask sometimes), they might not have extended themselves and I'd be out a functioning parking brake and have to take another day out of my life to go back to have it done in the future.

Bottom line for me: there's more to a deal than the price...long after you settle on a price, there's service...and that is more important than the price you pay for the bike...take a look around here and you'll see what I mean...

Thank you for all your inputs. Found a good deal from a private seller. If everything goes well, I will be an owner of a spyder next thursday/friday.
