• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all my wife "Deb" and I are planning on leaving SW MI.(exit 60 on I94) Wed. Morning. We are going to avoid most if not all major Hwy. and toll rd. also we are planning to go through Lake Placid NY, before heading north to Valcourt. Doing so google says it is 990 miles. Soooooo here is what we could use some help with. Those that control handing out "Iron Butt" certs say we need witnesses at both start and finish that are willing to be contacted to verify time and Odometer reading. Anyone planning on being in Valcourt early Thurs morning we could meet up with to be our witness on arrival? We will take you out for breakfast. Thanks

Robert

What is the date that you are arriving in Valcourt and what hotel will you be at? If you mean June 1st I will be st the Le Presidente Hotel and would be willing to be your witness.

Thank you

Hi Ann,
We were hoping to see you and Joe again. Yes we will be arriving June 1 early morning and we are staying at Suites Le Dauphin Drummondville. Deb will be thrilled to meet up with you folks and we will take you out for breakfast.

That witness can be anyone, say the desk clerk at the hotel. We had the gas station attendant at our final gas stop be our finish witness. We were certified.

That would be the Iron Butt association. They have several Ride Challenges. The most common is the "Saddle Sore 1000". The challenge is to ryde 1000 miles in 24 hours. The association has rules that you must follow in order for your ryde to be certified. You have a witness at the start of your ryde, they sign off on when you left and they need to be willing to be contacted to certify that they saw you leave at the designated time. You must keep gas receipts for each fuel stop, and and log all of your stops along the way. You also must have a witness at the end of your ryde to certify that you completed your ryde in less than 24 hours. All of this information gets submitted to the IBA along with a copy of your route. Once certified you receive a patch, a pin, a liscence plate frame and a certificate! We completed ours in 19.25 hours. Our next challenge is the Bun Burner1500 Gold! 1500 miles in 24 hours!:yikes:
