Iridium Plugs are Back!

Correction - Please Read!
Lamont just informed me that BRP is calling for all 2011 and later Spyders to use the hotter DCP8EIX Spark Plug. I had previously listed this plug for only the 2011+ RT, which is not correct.

I have had trouble keeping up with demand for the NGK DCPR9EIX Iridium spark, but they are back in stock now.

The DCPR9EIX (All Spyders 2008~2010) just came in so I will be shipping any outstanding orders for these out today.

I also have a good supply of the DCPR8EIX Iridium spark plugs (All Spyders 2011 and later).

2 plugs delivered anywhere in the US for $17 total. I will ship anywhere in the world. If you are International let me know where you want them sent and I will give you the cost to your location.

I've been holding out on the plugs hoping to order the wires at the same time. How are the wire tests coming along? Any idea of when they will become available? :D

I've got all the components coming for the wires and they should be here this week. Lamont will get a set on his and I am going to try another wire type on mine. We want to test them a bit before we send them out.

As you know our Spyders are pretty sensitive to EMI (Electro-Magnetic interferance) so we don't want to be sending people problems, we want to be sure we are sending solutions.

The first wire set should be much better than stock in several respects and is supposed to be in the OEM range for electromagnetic noise so they should work fine.

The 2nd wire I'm going to try is a bit more expensive but should give even longer life, better performance, and a greater reduction in electrical 'noise' over the 1st set.

I really don't want to mess with making 2 different wire sets. I'm leaing towards the higher quality/performance version even if the others work well. We'll have to decide if the cost is worth the additional benefits.

If the wires cause issues we should know right away. If we don't get any issues right away we still want to ride them for awhile to be sure.

I'd like to get them out quickly but that could come back to bite so it will be a few weeks yet.

The thing that surprises me in all of this is the complete lack of real information about different spark plug wire types and properties. The sales hype simply says that each wire is the best thing since sliced bread. But when I called a very well known manufacturer they just told me to try each product and see which one works the best.

With no test equipment I don't really like the idea of 'Trial and Error'. Granted, I'll be doing some of that anyway, but come on guys! You make this stuff, how about cutting lose with some hard data so a guy can eleminate some bad choices right off the bat!

great price on the plugs I just paid $12.50 apiece :gaah:for them. Will wait on the wires to see what you come up with

Sorry about that. At least it was only a few bucks on spark plugs. I've had some SpyderLovers tell me they spent a few hundred bucks too much on an Arai helmet before they found out I sold that brand! Now that hurts! :yikes:

It is always nice to be able to offer good stuff at a good price here for SpyderLovers. One of these days I'll get a web site up to make it easier on everyone. :D

These are selling fast and I don't seem to be able to restock quickly. Just a head's up that I may be out again soon.

I'm good on spark plugs at the moment.

I built a set of spark plug wires for Lamont's trip to Stugis. I wanted to see how they held up before I go into production. Pretty good test to Stugis and back I'd say. (Why do you think I didn't want to go along!) :roflblack:

Lamont's original impression was that they helped but I'll let him tell the story.

I know I'm lagging on these but I'm a 1 man show and I've been busier this year than ever. I'm getting to it though. Just takes me a little longer than most.

Now if I were Spyder*Ops I'd have had them done LONG ago! That guy is an energizer bunny - SuperSized! :yikes:
