• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here is my question about the ips key...1st ...i love the idea...but i know there is people out there that know how to steal things..like spyders,cars...yes i know they have to know how to work the system and turn it on.... so my idea is instead of taking it out ,u can put a kill switch on it so u dont hav to worry about someone stealing it,,,u just have to worry about someone stealing ur spyder $150.00 key and ur $75.00 ips key holder....any ideas...Please comment!!!

If I'm in a neighborhood that I'm not familiar with, when I park my spyder I pull the ips and lock it in the trunk. When I come back I press a hidden button to activate the electrical Tricled opener to pop the trunk.

There is no substitute for vigilence.
Park your Bike where it's going to be safe, take the key out of it, lock the storage compartments.
You'll end up making far fewer calls to guys like me...
If you've got an IPS; there are gun magazine pouches that do a pretty good job of holding them. Hang one on your belt!

:agree: With Wyliec and Bob. I leave my IPS in known surrondings like my house, Church, or when getting worked on (dealer). Beyond that, I take the IPS out, place it in the frunk/trunk and use the other key to lock it. I still use the 2nd key, but since "cloned" keys without the chips can unlock the handlebars and the truck lock, I will get me a copy to have with me (especially with the trailer since I can't open it with the IPS).

DISABLING THE SPYDER

To do this in way that's somewhat easy....You have to be able to get the " FRUNK " open....Then there are any number of wires that you put a small IN-LINE SWITCH onto ( sort of a KILL swich) that if not " thrown" will not allow the Spyder to either START/RUN.........hope this Helps.....Mike ......................... But I think the above suggestions are easier and less complicated.....personally I wouldn't get one in the first place....But then I'm not into " FARKLING ".:roflblack:

Also:agree:

If someone steals your Spyder with the key in it while its parked, And hits or seriously injures someone, Guess who is also negligent? Just Saying... It can happen!!

I t actually doesn't matter up here...
The key, is that they took the vehicle "without your permission"...
The location of the key doesn't enter into the equation.

"Negligence" isn't defined in insurance regulations in our State when it comes to this issue.
If you didn't give permission; the vehicle is considered stolen, and liability coverage is suspended. Physical damage coverage does still exist...
They actually put this into the law so that a stolen car's actions wouldn't result in liability claims having to be paid out by the insurance companies.

...But i DO happen to agree with you!

Although I'm a realist, it saddens me to read about the necessity of locking your spyder, car or even home. I can recall my early youth when folks just flat out didn't lock their homes and cars and had peace of mind. Whatever happened to us?

So nothing has ever been stolen from or in front of a Church?

Have a close friend who left his 2 wheeler locked up at church while he was on a cruise with his girlfriend and came back to a police notice that they had his bike from where it had been stolen and crashed.
