• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ipod problems

Still having problems getting my 5th generation nano ipod to work on my 2014 RTS. It plays music just fine but we can not get it to change playlists as the directions indicate. The system works fine with an iphone. We are thinking that the ipod may have a setting that should be changed. Has anyone out there dealt with this particular ipod and their spyder.

Thanks

I have the ipod touch and it works fine. I was told the Nanos plug in the same as a mp3 player and would not work. The unit has to plug in using the ipod plug in.

I pod touch works as do the phones but I believe the Nano is a no-no. It doesn't appear to interact with the Spyder software other than to send music forward.

I'm not familiar with the 5th generation iPod nano, but I can attest to the fact that BOTH my 4th generation nano and my 7th generation nano work perfectly with the Spyder, and both can be completely controlled by the multi-function system on the left handlebar. My 7th generation has the newer eight-pin "Lightning Connector" and requires the Lightning-to-30 pin Apple adaptor.

I'm not aware of a setting within the iPod that would affect this. As I recall, the 4th and 5th generation iPod nano's were very much the same. Not sure why one would work and the other wouldn't.
