There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. iPod Nano Question

I have a 2015 RTL and I want to get an I POD Nano to use exclusively for going down the road. My owners manual list says 5th & 6th generation are compatible. Does this mean that the latest greatest 7th generation won't work or did Apple allow for the older technology when they updated. I would like to get the latest greatest 7th generation if it will work. The older 5th & 6th generation are a lot less expensive. What is your advice? :dontknow:

I am no expert, but I think the issue is the interface. Apple changed the cable from the larger one to one more like the android interface. I think the issue will be plugging it into the port, the cable supplied is the larger of the two.

Yes the Ipod Nano 7th gen now uses the lightening connector. Thus all you need is the Apple adapter plug.

I have the 6th Gen,and love it. It is the wider connector. The capacity is 8GB.

Now I just got the 8th Gen with 16GB for a different purpose than the bike, but now thinking off adding to bike. Extra capacity is always nice! It has the micro USB, I believe it is called? Does anyone have this hook up that works, and if so, where did you get the new cable coming out of the bike?
Thanks in advance!

The 2014 RTs don't have the USB connector...
But it sounds like a good excuse to upgrade the bike!
(Or just get an adapter from Apple...)

.

From the specs i could look up. Ipod Nano 8th generation does not have a micro usb connector. It has the apple lightning connector. A new cable does not connect to the bike. You use the old cable with an adapter. As posted by others in this thread.

Thanks Billy......Adapter's only about $20 so worth the gamble. I'll check it out tomorrow.
