• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2011 Spyder Rt Limited & I am trying to use the cable coverter for the ipod. I bought an adapter that fits my iphone 8 so that when plugged in I can use the audio controls on the bike to go forward/backward on a playlist etc. When I plugged it in, I am in Aux mode and can only change the volume up and down. Suggestions?

Which cable do you have for the input in the trunk, the one with a power box in the cable or the one that is a cable only? I believe the 2011 has to use the cable with the power box in it. Sometime in 2012 BRP changed the radio and the adapter cable so unless your radio has been changed out you need the earlier cable. I don't know if the wrong cable will block the controls or not. But your 3rd party adapter could very well be the problem.

:agree: We had 2 2011's (now down to 1) and they need the can am Din to Apple adapter that has the box on it... and then you need the Apple branded 30 pin to lightening adapter. Worked great like that with both of ours. On occasion it will still say Aux for a couple of minutes but eventually will kick over and say iPod. Not sure if it was something with the bike or the charge level on the iPod.

Can Am Part number is 219400187 if you need the one with the box on it. They are getting really hard to find.

The box one is ok and has a different name on it even though it is a BRP sold part... can't remember at the moment... the 3rd party part that causes issues for some is the apple 30pin to lightening... no reported issues with the Apple branded one. Some haven't had any issues with the aftermarket ones either, but some have.

Thanks...I do have the adapter with the box on it.. it must be the 3rd party adapter :(

Might be & even with the Apple adapters still need securing the device somehow & turn off auto lock in setting otherwise it will continuously stop & just display AUX:banghead: , unfortunately as well every time you restart the default just goes to library not the playlist you had it on. The iPod may still play same song it was on(it’s in library) so usually won’t notice till next song or two. Unless the playlist is just as alphabetical as library :dontknow: annoys me mildly, just another step after start up.
