• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

IPOD integrations cable

I can't get a straight answer from the dealer. I am looking to buy an intergration cable part number 219400187-it came off a 2011 RT Limited. I currently ride a 2013 RT limited. The cable has the box on it where I see the new ones don't. I am just trying to find out if this part number will work with my model before I buy it. Thank you and this is an excellent forum for a new spyder owner like myself.

I did call the dealer and they said that they couldn't find definately if that would fit. I mean the DIN connector and ipod connector look the same I just want to make sure that they didn't change anything internally on the Can-AM and that is why they went to a new cable-and I potentially fry my system

I had a 2010 RT, and my Ipod connector had the box in it...
My 2014 doesn't...
I'm not sure when it was changed, but you're right: you don't want to get the wrong one!
I doubt that your 2013 would use the one with the box in it...

...But I'd hate like the dickens to lead you wrong!

The simple answer is no. You need the cable without the box.

2012 and up ipod cables do not have the box on it. They will play and charge your ipod without the box.

However, let me ask.....

Did you buy your Spyder used? If the radio was ever replaced, it may have gotten replaced with a newer radio.

So here is the important part.
If you use the old cable with the box in it on a new radio, it simply won't charge or work.
If you plug in the new cable on an old radio, you will feed 12V to your iPod and possibly fry it!

The iPod uses 5V to power / charge it.
The old radio output 12V and thus needed the box in the cable.
The new radio this box is built in and thus the radio outputs 5V to the iPod.

Hope this makes sense.
