IPod generation 7

I have the Spyder RT Limited 2012. Came with IPod and MP3 connection cords. My IPod is generation 7 and the cord connections that came with the RT Limited are for generation 6 and below. Anyone know if CanAm has come out with a new connection cord or is there some other way for me to get my music from the IPod through the CanAm? Tried connecting the MP3 cord to the IPod and it did not work and the CanAm IPod connector is not compatible now. Apple changed the connection plug in. Thanks

Wal Mart, or Best buy sells the adapter. It's called a lightning to 32 pin dongle - or something like that. We had to get one for ours. Leave it to Apple to change a design for no other good reason than to sell more iCrap.

Buy the Lightning to 30 pin adapter from Apple http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=3a it works on mine.

Note: do NOT buy the generic ones. All it does is charge the device but the sound features do no work.

:agree:. Get the lighting to 30 pin adapter. I have one for the iphone 5 and it works great in the spyder. The MP3 wire should work, but you have to set the music you want and then you don't have control over it like you do with the ipod connection.

I have the 2013 ST-L and my generation 7 with the Apple 30 pin adapter still does not work on my bike. :banghead: Did you finally get yours to work? I specifically bought the new IPod for use on my 2013 bike. Not realizing it was a generation 7 and would not work. I only had the little shuffle IPod before. Now my SON's older IPod works just GREAT on my bike!

Do you have the gen 7 in a protective case, the adapter has to seat all the way or it won't work.
