• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. iPod Cable

I'm no audio-electrical guy but why is the connector cable for the ipod in a loop and not a straight cable. Sometimes it pulls out of the iPad while traveling because the Pad tips over or whatever.

??? It is a straight cable, but it is stored un a U-shape in the bag, so it may not straighten unless you help it. Are you sure you removed the twisty-tie?

OMG......I just have mine and iPOD attached with velcro to flat surface in trunk, iPOD is also in a rubber case.

Similar here.

I installed a strap horizontally in the rear trunk so I can clip on my IPOD and my Cell Phone. I used velcro to mount that big honkin' box for the IPOD cable to the inside of the trunk. It keeps everything nice and neat and out of harms way.

Bag??? Mine has a big block in the middle of the cable and then makes a U-turn back to the plug in. Kinda annoying and I'm not sure why they designed it like that. I haven't put velcro in there yet but I'm sure I will eventually.

Sorry, you're right. It has been several months since I have had an RT to ride, and I got the two cables confused. Of course I always had so much crap stuck in my rear trunk that my iPod never hung down. :D I am a bit surprised that your iPod comes loose, though. The cable clips that require you to push the side buttons to remove the cable from the iPod, should attach it securely. Mine just dangled on the end of the cable, before I filled the trunk with junk.

BRP also makes a Semi-Rigid MP3 Player Bag (and attachment bar) accessory now P/N 219400189, MSRP $39.99.

I thought he said he was using an iPAD - don't know how you would Velcro one of those...... I bought a Gen 5, that I only use on my RT, and never remove it....

I think the best bet for an ipad would be to buy an iPod extension cable. That would allow you to put the iPad in the bottom of the trunk.

I recently added the BRP rear deck lid kit for @ $45.00 or so I think. This allows the cellphone, iPod, wallet, keys, and other crap to not slip down into the neither reaches of the trunk. :dontknow:

I have to agree the BRP supplied iPod cable is a bit of a problem the way it is configured.

Here are a few pics of the trunk mods I completed a few weeks ago. I installed the factory trunk liner and shelf. I installed the shelf higher in the trunk that what the directions called for by turning the strap upside down. I had to trim the shelf (only plastic) with scissors so it would clear the edges of the trunk. The iPod connector was velcro'd to the bottom of the shelf. I used some big velcro straps that I bought from home depot to hold my iPod and phone in place. The final touch was to add a battery powered LED light to the lid.
