iPad 2 question

Anyone with an iPad 2 that has lost the screen colors; for lack of a better word, the colors have faded, and mostly gray. I know there are settings for brightness, gray scale, and reversing colors, and I've been thru all of them. Periodically the colors come back, but don't stay long. Any helpful hints. I checked with apple, and display replacement is $249. My iPad is 2 years old, and out of warranty.

I also have an IPad 2 which is going on four years now with no issues, I have not seen the issue you described on any of my friends IPads .It sure does sound like a display issue. That is not cheap for a replacement!:yikes: Hope you can find a cheaper solution.

It was $299 at the apple store for a refurbished iPad 2, 4th generation, 90 day warranty, with the return of my iPad. I decided against that and purchased the iPad 2 Air for the gf.

If you want to repair it yourself check out iFixit. You can get the parts on eBay too and the tools. It sounds like something is loose or a connector needs to be pressed home if it works occasionally.
