Went earlier today to the new International Motorcycle Show, now an outdoor event with an emphasis on demo rides. And while it is possible I missed a Can Am booth somewhere on the expansive grounds of the show, I did not see any presence at the show at all. In fact, the only 3 wheelers that I saw displayed were the Ural motorcycles with sidecar (but no demo rides were being offered at the show). It seems to me that the Can Am Spyder and its other 3 wheelers are wanting to be thought of as part of the motorcycle world, and this show would have been a great opportunity to be exposed to large numbers of potential customers. And FWIW, overall the show seemed to have less vendors than at past indoor shows, and several other marques were not present such as Ducati, and MotoGuzi who were always at previous shows that I attended. Still glad I went. For myself and a few friends this is an annual event that we go to together for the past dozen or so years, minus last year when Covid caused a cancellation of the shows totally.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP has not had a presence at the International Motorcycle Show for several years. They used to go to Americade in Lake George, NY (and other major MC rallies I'm sure) but haven't been there for several years as well. BRP used to have a Spyder rally in Maggie Valley, NC until 2013. Now they just sponsor some rallies. I know they were one of the sponsors of the Deadwood 3WR and usually sponsor the SpyderQuest rally in NY. Other than doing demos at some dealers they do not have a physical presence anywhere that I know of.
I was speaking with a BRP rep once and asked why they stopped. He just answered it's the marketing department's decision.

Our group stopped going the the IMS shows a couple years ago. The last few shows we went to were smaller each year with less brands attending and more "Flea Market" space. The show added many 'attractions' like the custom bikes displayed to help draw in people but if you're shopping for a ride and want side-by-side comparisons, look elsewhere.
:agree: The last show I attended in Cleveland had zero manufacturer attendance. The only new bikes were from dealerships in the area. A few dealerships did have nice displays and a variety of bikes, but most were small displays. HD had a nice setup and I spent time chatting with a salesperson at that display. He told me that they were there entirely on their own with no factory backing as were the other makes that happened to be on hand. There were no demo rides being offered by anyone. Yes, tons of worthless "flea market" crap to be had. That was 2015 and I'll never waste my time on another show.
