Well I've been experiencing intermittent loss of my power steering when cornering hard or braking and cornering hard at the same time. Getting ready for long trip in September so thought I'd drop by my dealer(stealer) and have them hook up to BUDS to see if there were any stored codes, as I've never had any scroll across my dash.
They found 3 seperate codes ECM P1130 Lambda sensor signal error (twice), DPS U0126, loss communication with SAS five times, and VCM C1290 VCM voltage failure indicating high voltage spikes five times. Spyder mechanic DX as loose battery cable or bad Regulator.
Well rode back home and checked the battery cables and lo and behold my ground cable is loose!!! Tightened up and tomorrow after work will go to Batteries + and have them load test my battery as it was only showing 12.10 volts when ignition off and hooked up to BUDS. Am more than a little disappointed, as this bike has lived on a battery tender from day one; would expect better life from a battery so kept, oh well it is what it is. Hopefully this will correct things and this won't be an issue any more. Sure does take a whole lot of force to turn the wheels from straight when that DPS cuts out!!!!:yikes::yikes::yikes:
Have another 30 days to get complete look over before I leave on vacation. Oil and filters are enroute from Ron. rear brake pads are on the shelf. polish, polish , polish with 303 to get the bugs to release easier after a long day on the road. come on September 4th!!!:yes:
