• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

intermittant squeal

As the header says. Picked my Spyder last Thursday and it has a high pitch squeal from the rear that comes and goes with no apparent pattern. Rear bearings? Teething issues......???

Belt tension.

Belt maybe rubbing on the flange of the sprocket [rear]
I put mine 3mm off the flange. Stopped most of the squeal but not all.
Hope this helps.

Tight as a drum. Can it be too tight?

RAL

It can be too tight but don't guess. Get a gauge or some reliable form of tension test. And check the other obvious possibilities mentioned (like the PB) before going to trial and error.

loose/wobbling front sprocket

mine did it. may want check if your front belt sprocket bolt is loose and sprocket is wobbling. the teeth may engage the belt at an angle and cause squeal. load and temperature was a factor.

Dusty rotor

Mine would squeal whenever I would reverse... Dealer told me that a build up of brake dust on the rear rotor was probably the culprit. Cleaned it up, and no more squeal! Hopefully it's an easy fix for you.

Found

After checking every and anything that could be the cause and having the dealer look for the squeel at the 600 mile check up (they could not make the machine do it) I found the sourse today...its my:cus: helmet!!! If I look down and turn my head slightly to the side.........:gaah:
