• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding through Colorado today on our way to the owners event. Heading down 285 I leaned over my wife's shoulder to view the GPS to see how far before our next turn (we share driving) when I felt something fall. Took a few seconds before I realize it's my wallet that slipped out of my riding jacket and a few more before I can get my wife to pull over. The speed we are traveling was 65 mph. Once stopped I jump off and start walking back about a mile when I see a van make a U turn and pull to the shoulder. A man and a woman get out and start picking things up from the road and shoulder.
The man hands what he has to the woman and she starts walking towards me and hands me my wallet, cash, credit cards and said we assumed this is why you are walking away from your motorcycle. We were wondering why when we spotted your wallet in the road.
Looks like the impact when it hit the road tossed everything out and the money was found clinging to the grass on the shoulder of the road.
They helped me look further and was able to find two more cards. I beleive we found everything!
Super nice couple :2thumbs: And helps restore trust that not everyone looks out only for themself :ohyea:

Great news..!

there are such people around. That is quite a ryde and you were really fortunate that it was them that came across your wallet..be safe and put your wallet in a safe place when your not driving...:2thumbs::ohyea:

It is great that you found some honest people. It is sad that in America today we believe ( rightly or wrongly) that this is the exception and not the rule. I like to believe that most people are honest and would not take something that is not theirs. I have seldom been disappointed.

Glad you found eveything!

I was on the other side of a similar situation once. A guy pulled out from a filling station in front of me. About the same time I see cash flying. It looked like he had thrown it from the driver window. I stopped and found a wallet and lots of cash on the shoulder and in the grass on the bank by the road. There have been more in the trees farther off, but I didn't want to wade through the tall grass. From the ID I tried to contact him and got his mother and was able to return it. Apparently he had been to the bank for some cash and had just laid it in the fold of the wallet, then he set his wallet on his car roof while he refueled and forgot it was there when he drove off.

I'm always pulling at the zippers on my m/c jacket after I leave a gas station & am heading down the hwy, just to make sure they are up. Now & then I get that sinking feeling when I find them down.

Glad it all turned out OK.

A very scary situation when the wallet goes AWOL. Glad to hear that the outcome was positive. I like to believe there are more nice people than bad ones.:yes:

Ride

When riding I always wear cargo pants and put my wallet in a front pocket with a Velcro flap. As I am riding I can place my hand on the pocket to be sure the wallet is there.

Us too

We weren't as lucky. Couple years ago on motorcycle trip with friends to Reno we stopped for gas. My husband took his wallet out of a zipped bag bungied To his luggage rack on his Harley to use gas credit card. Not sure what happened next but after paying and putting it back in the bag rode across the street to a McDonalds for lunch. When he went to the bag to get his wallet it was not zipped and no wallet. So went back to gas station and could not find it. One of our friends decided to ride down the highway slowly and check the grass along the highway. A few miles down the road he saw it laying in the grass. Evidently we think the person who took it opened it and saw my husbands police badge, panicked, took the $600 cash but left all the credit cards got scared and tossed it. Thank goodness it was the last day of the trip on the way home so the loss of cash didn't affect our vacation.
