• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

insuring a new Spyder

I live in Ohio and have GIECO. I pay $285 per year with $250 deductibles. I am 39 with a clean driving record and 1 claim with GIECO 4 years ago.

Compared to what I pay from State Farm in Alaska, your quotes are ball park. My 2010 RTS is $50 per month and my 2011 RTS is $54 per month. I carry full coverage, have a great driving record, and am high 60's in age. I am expecting that the 2014 RTS will probably jump about $10 per month--but don't have an official quote laid in yet. The Spyder RTS costs as much as a lot of peoples cars including my new 2014. My agent also covers my car (2014) and my home insurance. I like the fact that my agent knows who I am, I can call them when there are any problems, and that I have always had my claims covered in a timely and fair basis. I have been a State Farm customer since 1965 in every state that I have lived in.

You will find quotes all over the place--higher and lower. Bottom line for me is be happy with what you purchase.

Change the words very little, and this could have been my post. State Farm, 2013 RTS is $46/year. My agent also covers my home and auto. Been with them since 1989. Never had any problem with claims and they know me on a personal basis. I can call at any time if I have a problem.

I thought Progressive was good until I check the AARP Foremost Program which cut my premium in
half for slightly better coverage. It is hard to compare one person to another also because a first year driver
will get hit much harder than an experienced one...

My son just got his insurance license and was able to get me a great deal on my 2014 yesterday with better coverage. If anyone is interested PM and I will get you his information. I will speak to him to be sure he gives the same deal to Spyder Lovers

I see you are able to join AARP I would suggest it. I am insured with Foremost thru AARP, rate is $453.82 per year . Prior to my spyder I had a Harley insured with foremost thru a broker not AARP, was comparing rates with a friend also with a Harley his rate thru AARP was 30% cheaper than mine. I called the #{Foremost ad} listed in the aarp magazine & I was quoted a similar rate to my friend. To change to the aarp rate I had to get a release from my insurance broker. Might be worth looking into and no I am not affiliated with AARP

For me, my Foremost Agent beat the AARP motorcycle price by $50/yr.. My Erie Ins. Agent beat AARP car ins. by over $400/yr.. :yikes: It pays to check all avenues for prices. Tom :trike:
