• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

thanks everyone

I will call/visit State Farm tomorrow. I appreciate all the responses. I would like to hear from anyone in my area who gets together for rides. I will be buying my Spyder this week and am absolutely over the moon about it. To the people who asked me to PM them I am sorry but I just joined this and don't know how to yet! ;)

Insurance

My 2011 RS-S costs $360/yr with State Farm. I also have a clean driving record. It is the same as my 2012 Chevy Cruze.

Mine is $80 a month liability only (winter time) and $700 a year full coverage all other months. $500 deductible Progressive.

INS Cost

I pay $936 per year for my Spyder and a Harley together. The Spyder is $620 and that is with Progressive here in Alabama. That rate is $500 less than when I lived in Indiana last year.

I feel like I'm getting the shaft. Three quotes here in Ontario. All around $1950.00 you should be happy with such a reasonable premium. I am going to keep shopping.

Thanks for the US pricing. Maybe I should move. The US is my fluorite place to tour.

Most of our insurance is with State Farm. Spoke to our agent yesterday and they quoted 754 for 6 months. They told us SF will not issue a one year policy in Texas, only 6 months. That rate is considerably higher than the 974 Progressive charges for each of our 2 Spyders per year. No idea why the Spyder is SO much more expensive to insure. The SF rate is more than they currently charge me to insure my Ford GT....

Something is amiss with insurance rates on these Spyders. Its triple what they were charging for Louise Harley. Makes no sense.

NY Insurance

Hi I live in Binghamton and just paid $387 with a $200 deductible on a renew I also have three other vehicles insured with Liberty Mutual.
Ride and have fun.

AARP-Foremost

I ran into the same trouble when we purchased 2 rt spyder in 2012. Everyone I checked into was extremely outrageous. Then called AARP-FOREMOST and their rates were half the price of everyone else plus they offer roadside assistance and full coverage. Also need to be a member of AARP. Good luck in finding reasonable insurance.

With GEICO, I pay $645 a year for a policy that provides: Bodily injury Liability $300,000/$300/000, Property Damage Liability $100,000, Medical Payments $10,000
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury $300,000, Uninsured Motorist Property Damage $50,000, Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury $300,000/$300,000, Underinsured Motoris Property Damage $50,000, Comprehensive Deductible $250, Collision Deductible $140, Towing and Labor Deductible $7 I could reduce it by not riding in the winter, but I'd rather ride on nice days than leave it parked all winter. I've been with GEICO for many years, and know that they are great to deal with if I have an accident . . . any time I've needed them, they respond as though I was filming a TV ad for them!

We joined USAA years ago. We have our cars insured with them. Then Nancy bought her 2010 RT-S and went through USAA-Progressive got a great deal. Then I bought my 2013 RT-LTD in Sept, with both bikes, our rate is $750 a year. Think we have $500 deductable.

You should note that the rates vary wildly, depending on where you live. Here, Progressive and Geico are ridiculous at $800 to $1100 a year, but Liberty's price is $335 per year, with a $100 deductible.

Perhaps you should buy a vacation home & register it there??

I have State Farm for my 2011 RT A-C. For $250 deductible collision and $0 deductible comprehensive it is $359 per year. I have my home and cars with same agent. I have good driving record and am almost the big 55.

You're all lucky in the US. Motorcycle insurance in Canada is an outrageously expensive rip off considering most of the roads are covered with ice and snow for 5 months of the year. I can't find anything less than $900 a year. They'll probably want another 30+% more for the 1330 Rotax.

ME TOO...............SORTA

I also have FOREMOST ( not with AARP ) and for full coverage, including un-insured motorist , 12 mo. = $ 208 each (avg.)........one 08 GS, one 11 RSS. I do have $1000 deductible on collision....but that's only going to matter if I cause the accident..Mike

We insure 2 through Progressive for roughly $500 a year for both (not each)... rates are good in SD.
