There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I had state farm when i crashed my 2013 RTS and they tried to lower the reimbursement for my bike which had over $4000 in accessories. They do not cover your bike like your car. I dropped them and purchased AARP/Foremost insurance and have filed two claims with them. They are so fast and put money in my account within a few days to pay my claim. They are the best out there for bike insurance. They are well worth the $900 i spend. All my accessories are covered including my trailer for $10,000. I have a $250 deductible. I love them. They are johnny on the spot for claims. I have towing and everything my car has.

RE: State Farm: I had damage to my 2014 RT from hitting a dog. Over $1,800. The bike was fixed within a couple weeks (had to wait for some parts), the claim was paid in full, and my rates were not increased.

Had SF for 40 years, home and vehicles. When we got our first Spyder they wouldn't touch it. Our agent said they wouldn't insure it. I went with Foremost. About two years later I received a letter from State Farm that my homeowners rates would go up 10% above the state allowed limit. If I didn't accept their terms within 30 days, I would have all coverage dropped. Now this is happening with several insurance companies here in NC. I dropped SF.

I went with Farm Bureau. They gave me much better coverage at a much cheaper rate than SF. And their claims service is really good. They are a part of American Farm Bureau Federation. This is a non profit organization. You don't have to be a farmer either. There is a yearly membership fee of $25.00.

Not to be confused with Farmers Insurance.

Choices choices..!!

you've done your homework and they are all known companies. There are variable state to state and agent to agent. The thing I found is we are much less apt to have damage to our spyders than our cars house etc. We all take extra care with them. The trick is only insure it for what the company will give you for it (if paid off) in the event it is stolen/totaled....you have the figures...:banghead: now you have to pick....

IMHO I wouldn't ever buy Progressive Insurance. Would go without first. Check out their CEO and Connections.nojoke

I've heard that before and like someone else said I believe that it is just an urban myth but even if it isn't there are times when you just have to suck it up and go with who offers you the best price for their product. I really don't like the Commander in Chief, hate his politics, but I'm not going to leave the United States just because.

I have Progressive thru USAA. Just got a quote from Nationwide it was 2/3's of what progressive charges. Gonna change at renewal in a couple of months.

Hi bruiser,

Re: Had SF for 40 years, home and vehicles.

I went with State Farm back in '71 ( I was 30 yrs old ). When I turned 70 ( 40 yrs later ) they put my rates through the proverbial roof.

I went with USAA and have been satisfied ever since. USAA subs their motorcycle insurance policies out to Progessive, at least in this area.

Hey Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been with Nationwide for 30 years or according to the commercials and they sponsor his car, what more do you need to trust them :)

James we have Foremost/AARP for 4 bikes.....each with $5000 to $7000 extra....$500 deductible....when Mark had his accident last October...we had check in hand in less than 2 weeks...they even paid Mark for doing his own work....we pay just over $700 for 4 bikes....Brazoria county not Harris

Thanks Charlene. Foremost quoted me 1120 for 2 Spyders in Harris County. Nationwide is asking about half that. Since no one mentioned any bait n switch or really dredful dealings with Nationwide, I will likely be going with them after the 1st of the month. Still have not heard back from American Modern but I cannot do anything until Apr 1 anyway. (Current policy expires May 1)

Geico

I have Geico, and as mentioned, it's good if you need it. Which I did. When I was struck from behind, while stopped. My Spyder was fixed without issue and zero hassles from Geico.

I have had State Farm for upteen years on everything I own. Several bikes.cars and a house. No problems. Very low rates with safe drive and all the discounts.
As silly as this sounds, make sure the agent is quoting rate4s for the Cam Am Spyder and not the other Spyder (forget who made.makes it). It a higher priced sports car. The first I asked rated I was quoted somde very price and I said, no way. The agent checked and said, 4 wheel Spyer and I said, no. this was back when they first caame out. So Now ?
As a aside, if you have a trailer of any sort, bike, truck, or whatevery check your coverage. My truck trailer was covered if attached to the truck but sitting someplace, even at home, it was not for fire theft or whatever. Policy to cover it then, a whole ten dollars a year

CRB

I just noticed that the insurance I have with Allied Ins. is in fact a Nationwide company??? I have a 2014 RT Limited and the renewal was $373.65 annually. don't know if that is a good rate or not????

BIG F
if u have the proper coverages within your policy that is a very nice and fair price. mine with geico is $332. a year with high limits on liability, etc.

Nationwide is on your side, right? I have Progressive and $3,000 of accessory coverage is included and that amount can be increased up to $10,000. They also offer replacement coverage for bikes that are no more than 2 model years old. With the rapid depreciation that Spyders seem to take that seemed to be a good bet. Would have come in handy on my 2013 if I had needed to use it after the fire.

I have always had Nationwide and never a problem. I have my home, cars, trucks, bikes, and my Spyder with Nationwide for 45 years.

Mike

Thanks for the Thread

I may be shopping policies soon. I'm currently with Progressive/USAA and had a total loss claim on my spyder last year. I was very pleased with the quick payout and the way it was handled. Renewal on my remaining bikes is due soon and I'm anxiously waiting to see what kind of hit, if any, I'm going to take. Because of their good service, I might not mind a minor increase, but it can't hurt to know what other options are out there.
