There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hello
My first time here. I have purchased a 2011 RTS SE5 Limited from an individual in Palm Springs. It has only 270 miles. the previous owner has developed heart problems and now only rides a electric mobility scooter. I will have the bike shipped to my Beaverton, Or home next week some time but I have a question regarding insurance. My quote for Progressive seemed quite high and I just received a great (LOW) quote from Foremost. I have checked the link below anne unfortunately it receives VERY low reviews. What insurance carriers do readers of the post use and what rates (If you don't mind) do you get. I also have a 2003 BMW K1200LT. I'm very excited!

I am with Foremost for all my vintage bikes and the only time I needed them they were perfect!! For my 2 3 wheelers (RT+Ural) I am with Geiko and the price is ok, but I never had to use it!
Rest of my modern bikes are with Progressive...prices so-so (will change to Geiko, nest time) never had to use them either!
From what I know one of the most important thing is the under/no insurance part: try to get as much as you can, I am glad I had a $300,000.00 coverage with Foremost when hit by a minimum insured rider...

How much was your quote?
I've been using Foremost for years, I never had to make a claim '' '' ;But my son hit some R/R tracks with his snowmobile in Tug Hill, 45 hundred dollars in damages, Foremost paid to fix it with out a problem.

1st price is for the Can Am RTS, 2nd for the Ural, both bought new and both, at the time, with a credit (collision/comprehensive mandatory)

Foremost is A Rated and is endorsed by AARP. I dont think AARP would endorse a company which was not top notch. In addition, Foremost provides free towing on a flatbed to the nearest Can Am dealer.

I've got my RT with American Modern Home... The current premium is $525; but that's a very individual number based on personal factors...
I had a small "issue" :opps: last October, and they paid out for the damage to both my Bike and the other vehicle quite promptly. I was able to contact the adjuster pretty much any time a question popped up too!
Oh! :welcome:

RE: Insurance. Rates will vary from state to state, company to company, and will include your personal score.

I have all my coverage through the same company. State Farm has been my insurance since 1965. They have my car, my two motorcycles and my home.

It costs me $55 per month for my 2010 RTS--Full coverage.

I prefer dealing with an insurance agent who knows me. When i have a problem I can give my agent a call and don't have to play phone roulette.

:welcome:

The rating you are looking at is based on 32 reviews out of ten of thousands of Foremost customers and as you well know forum posters with complaints tend to speak more often.. Foremost is endorsed by AARP for their choice for Motorcycle and RV coverage. I know many many bikers over the years that have used them happily.. Plus AARP doesn't endorse a company without checking it inside out... My latest progressive quote (granted for extensive coverage) after an accident not my fault (other company paid) ws $1182 and Foremost offered slightly better coverage for $528. I would not be heavily influenced by the link you provided.

re insurance

Thanks for your prompt replies. It is interesting to look at the reviews. I have to admit I have had great service from many companies in many businesses and I have never searched out their website so I could boast of how great they are! Sooooo I suppose I should not take the reviews exactly for what is said.
Thanks
Larry

AARP????

So this why I am receiving AARP invitation to join??? they have access to the Can Am owners list?

I also have Foremost, so far, so good..........but I haven't had to make any claims! AND I WANT TO KEPT IT THAT WAY! :roflblack:

Liberty Mutual and State Farm are both right at $300/yr for full coverage on my RT. Oregon is strange in many ways, insurance cost being one of them.

None of the "cheaper" brands are competitive here.

I agree with everything akspyderman says. Trying to compare insurance from one state to another is like apples to oranges. But rates also depend on the individual being insured and the agent providing the coverage. My 2010 RT is insured with Foremost for about $320.00 per year. My other vehicles are insured with Progressive but they are all through the same agent and, like akspyderman says, they know me. I make one phone call for any insurance needs. My RT used to be with Progressive but last year my agent told me they could get me better coverage for less money through Foremost, so we changed. I really think a good agent is at least as important as the company providing the insurance.

Insurance

I had my RTS-M5 with AAA- 300,000\ 100,000 for a cost of $830.00 per yr. Switched to Alstate same coverage $236.00 per yr. But everything else I own is still with AAA.

Been with Foremost for over 6 years and I've never had problerms with them...They're responsive and endorsed by AARP..Rates are almost half of what I was quoted from others...I pay $618 for full coverage...300,000, 100,000, 300,000..500 deductible
