• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installing RT Limited Seat

Hello,
Replacing my Corbin (sorry Corbin) with a RT Limited which will then be upgraded via Russell Day Long.
My question is when installing the seat, are there any tricks lining up the bolts and nuts that attach the seat? Doesn't help I have MS and dexterity issues.
Any hints will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I have removed quite a few ….. Taking off the pass backrest makes this job much easier …. but the MOST important thing is stuff or tape over the cavities / holes / spaces you will find when you start this project …. it's very easy to loose nuts etc. into the bodywork …. not a hard job, good luck …. I've seen and bookmarked this video. Very good. I've blocked off the black hole of no return!
I just don't have the coordination needed to put it back together.:gaah: I'll keep trying or try to sucker someone to come over and help.
MS sucks!

There must be an RT owning bloke in that area who is a skilled enough DIYer to help you with the job.

Glad to hear it. At this point 300 miles is the absolute limit for my arse and usually it is more like 200.
I have an appointment in September.

Tip: The Nut and Bolt do not go in as deep into the slot as you might think. All of the other suggestions are really great as well. I'm pretty quick with it now, but I've probably done four seats. I now have a Russell!

I couldn't do 845 miles in a Limo! Good for you.
Rob
All part of my "Out West Trip" last year. 7,600 miles in 14 days. Colorado, Yellowstone, Black Hills. Great trip. 845 miles was biggest day. Had 2 - 800 miles days, and 745 miles, were the biggest days. This seat didn't make me really "sore", made it manageable. But OEM seat, I wouldn't even attempt that ride

Good to know.....I was wondering how far the nut should go in the slot....my riding buddy is coming over to help but I'll give it another shot. Third day is a charm?!

Just to end the story, my riding buddy came over and used an allen wrench to line up the holes and viola! Done . in 10 minutes!
MS Sucks.
Thanks for all the input!
