• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installing Chrome FootPeg support casting

Questions

I am going to upgrade my sister's 2011 RT Limited with some chrome upgrades. I have not looked into the support upgrade yet so I am interested to know if it is as straight forward as it seems or is there any special concerns I should know about? Has anyone done these themselves and what can you tell me about what I should look out for!

Thanks for all your time and concern in this matter!

If you are handy at all its doable. The brake push rod is a little tricky. Took me about 4 and 1/2 hours.

Fastfraser,

Thanks for the insight. I live on a farm and have done everything you can imagine that farm life entails (eg. built a barn, two car garage, poured concrete, install radiant floor heating, put up 10 kw Bergey windmill, installed solar panels, outside wood boiler, etc...) especially adapting to fixing things that always fail at the most inopportune times. What exactly does "a little tricky" mean in reference to the brake push rod?

Suggestion..!!

if you don't have one get a manual..your life will be soo! much easier. You can get them online (Green Manuals). If you don't do things just right you end up with limp mode brake failure..take your time remember where everything goes..good luck..!!

The master cylinder makes the right side trouble some, be sure not to pull the pushrod out from the master cylinder or it will leak fluid. Other wise follow the instuctions they send with it. Getting the casting off and back on requires a bit of trial and error to get over the cylinder boot but it is doable even thought I thought it would be a nightmare after fighting to get it off.

:banghead: been there done that and got the T Shirt. Be careful as suggested it easy to do and then off to the dealer for a BUDD's hook-up and bleed!

Never had to take it to the dealer. Brake bleed is very costly and not needed for the Foot Peg Support Bracket ,never had it hooked to BUDS either.:dontknow:

Sounds like you weren't a dummy like me and knocked the piston out of the master cylinder? Brake Fluid on the floor and then of course the "brake error" message. Cost me about 1hr labour, like an $ 80.00 lesson I think?
