There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installed LED headlights....do I need to adjust?

Installed LED headlights on my 2013 RTL...and they are bright! Love the light. In fact, there is so much light I’m wondering if I will blind people. There is clearly a horizontal line of light in front of me and I did not realize how little light the originals put. In fact, I never noticed a horizontal line with the stock bulbs. Do these require adjustment or does that line automatically put them below oncoming eyes? I did not make any adjustments on the install and it seems the LED bulbs only go in one way.

There is a simple procedure to check and adjust the height of the headlight beam. It's on the forum somewhere. Try a search.

I believe lights should be checked at time of purchase and every year. Pulling up towards a wall in the dark doesn't take much time.
I have heard naysayers pointing out that led bulbs have a different shape than the old bulbs do, so those refractors shouldn't be used. I say your results may vary.
Having a passenger one night and not the next makes a drastic difference.
Im guessing the headlight adjustment is in the manual? Really shouldn't take that long.

The actual changing of the bulbs might, and might NOT, require adjustment, but with all said and done,
DO CHECK THE ADJUSTMENT.

The procedure is not hard. VERY easy to drive toward your garage door or the dark side of a building to see where that horizontal line is. It's not much harder to pull the two panels on the sides (requires no tools) to turn the screws to adjust the lights.

A final check is to drive at night and notice where your horizontal line hits. It should illuminate the license plates of cars ahead of you, but should not shine into the windows. If you see reflectorized signs (stop signs, curve ahead, etc.) shining back at you, they are WAY too high.

Steve: Thanks for clarifying. I was not sure if they automatically required adjustment with new bulbs or if they should be good since I did not change the headlight adjustment. I will use you guidelines and adjust if needed.

I do like these LED’s - they are so much brighter and really light the road.

When you removed the headlight assemblies to replace the halogen bulbs with LEDs you had to disconnect the locking nut on the adjustment cables for each light to remove them from the Spyder. See the picture at the upper right corner of pg 141 of your operator's guide. If you did not reinstall the adjusting cables into the same holes they were originally removed from that could change the adjustment. On my bike the original holes were also marked with a yellow crayon on the panels the cables were anchored to.

For instance I just ordered Lamonster's system head/fog/lights.....on the headlights themselves....is there a rotational adjustment to narrow or widen the beam itself on the headlight?....I understand the cable adjustment is basically for height adjustment on the instructions mentioned in the operators guide. And of course it mentions setting the airshock to "0" psi
