• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You made it look so easy I had to get one. One less thing to worry about now when I gas up or go in to eat somewhere.:clap:

Cheap Alternative

Hi All
Thinking outside the square, if you want a cheap quick fix to keep your friends from playing tricks, or worse some low life stealing your Zumo, I put a Plastic Cable Tie on the shaft of the release lever. With the tie in place on the shaft you cannot depress the release lever to remove the Zumo. When done just cut the plastic tie off.

Obviously the Kradlelock is a more robust and preferred deterrent but I find the zip tie handy as a quick fix

(Thinking like a criminal...)
A simple pair of wire cutters, and I'm GONE with your GPS! :yikes:

After seeing how solid and secure this makes the setup; why try to save money on doing it cheaply (And Less securely)? :dontknow:

The Zumo 590 that was part of my OTD deal came with a complete set of accessories amongst which was a protective cap for the contact pins on the GPS cradle and is locked in place by the Kradellock. I find it a much better option than trying to stretch BRP's rubber boot over the Kradellock and GPS mount when I don't ride with the Zumo installed, like during local running around. It's worth a check with Garmin to see if there is such a device for models other than the 590 if one has a different one. JMO.

BRP's rubber boot .... if the Kradellock is not locked down, I can fit the top of the boot in the gap between the lock and GPS cradle.
But, that Zumo protective cap does look more secure.

If you ordered the Kapplock also; you didn't have to...
But I'm going to use mine to make it tougher for the :cus:-bags to steal my Go-Pro.
(It replaces the big thumbwheel "nut' that is used on any of the Ram accessory mounting arms...)

Too true Bob
Will probably look to the Kradlelock as a long term solution and look out for suspicious types with wire cutters:spyder:

installed it on Friday it's well made and I feel Secure leaving my GPS on the bike but one problem was the GPS keeps flopping down is there any way to tighten up the up-and-down motion on the mount thanks for any help

I think that you just need to go back in, and tighten up the four screws that hold the Kradellock to the clamps.
I believe that the bottom screw kind of attaches to the "solid" end of the clamp, and the top one attached to the part that tightens down to provide the clamping force.

On my BRP mount for the Tri-Axis handlebars the bottom two bolts are the ones that adjust the clamping pressure of the cradle on the mount.

:dontknow: That's very possible: mine could be backwards! nojoke
One end goes solidly into the body of the clamps, and the other one hooks to the end that pivots in and out as the tightening force is changed...

THANKS GUYS FOR THE HELP GOT IT ALL TIGHTEN DOWN AND NO PROBLEM WITH MY ROBIN HOOD SUN SHADE STILL FITS ONE LESS THING TO DO AT PIT STOPS
