• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just received and installed the floorboards from Inspector Gadget. These are very nice. Smaller than the ones I had from Seal-boards and JM Floorboards. I prefer the smaller board. If anyone was wondering the Inspector Gadget's version is worth the 150.00 cost. Hope everyone is enjoying the start to the summer riding time.

Keep a watchful eye on the rubber piece that is behind your peg mounting nut/washer. As you all realize, the IG floorboards mount on top of your OEM pegs and cause your pegs to rotate some especially when mounting your Spyder. I installed the IG floorboards on my 2012 RT Ltd probably 10 months or so ago. A few weeks back I noticed the rubber piece mentioned in the first sentence above on my left peg was torn to the point where I could actually grab a piece of the rubber with my fingers. The right side wasn't as bad. I contacted my dealer hoping for a warranty repair and was told the most likely cause was the floorboards twisting the pegs. Sounded logical to me so I didn't press the issue any further. I also had the Rivco RT Driver floorboards on order which require the pegs to be removed for installation anyway.

Be advised that, per my dealer, the rubber piece is not something that can be ordered and replaced when required. This piece has a part number stamped on it (705003616) which I could not find in the IPB. Apparently this rubber piece is an integral part of the foot peg and the fix requires the peg to be replaced. The pegs run about $78 each.

I took some photos of the rubber piece in question and I'll try and post them, but may not be successful. Sorry can't figure out how to upload pictures using my iPad (the photos are also on my iPad). If your interested in the pictures, PM me with your email address and I'll send them to you.

I'm not saying the IG boards were definitely the cause of the damage to the rubber pieces, but...
 
UPDATE: ORDERED RUBBER BUSHINGS

UPDATE - I googled the part numbers molded into the LH and RH Rubber Bushings and found a couple of places that sell them. One being http://www.obmotorcycleatv.com/default.asp. The bushing part numbers are 705003615 (right side) and 705003616 (left side). They cost about $4.00 each plus shipping. So, apparently we don't have to purchase the entire footrest should the need arise to replace the rubber bushings. Still could not find these bushings listed on the BRP IPB. Hope this info is helpful.

I have a Spyder RT-S SE5 2010 Model

Looking on the BRP Parts finder they look like they are located in the

Section 09 - Body and Accessories SE5 Part 2

They look like the no 33 item and are listed in the description as Inner Bushing

Maybe someone can confirm this

Eddie,

The inner bushing P/N 706201151 is a metal bushing that goes inside the large center hole in the rubber bushing in the photo. The mounting bolt goes inside the metal bushing. The rubber bushing part numbers are 705003615 (RH) and 705003616 (LH). I couldn't find those part numbers in thr BRP IPB. I also have the Green Manual that has a search capability...searched for those part numbers with no success.
 
So it appears that the stock footpegs will wear the rubber bushing as well, maybe not as fast. Are there any alternatives in footboards? If the rubber bushings can be replaced at a low cost it may be just one of those things.

The stock footrests may possibly wear the rubber bushing as well. However it appears that any twisting action would be minimal with the stock footrests. Any floorboard that simply mounts on top of the OEM footrests and doest't attach to the Spyder at any other point acts as a lever. When the ryder mounts the Spyder using the "lever" it places a lot more twisting action on the OEM footrest which can/will tear the rubber bushing. The rubber bushings are available for about $4.00 each plus shipping. However removing the footrests to replace the bushings is something I wouldn't want to have to do very often.

I just installed the Rivco RT Driver Floorboards that totally replace the OEM footrests. They are solid as a rock.
 
The Rivco's do look good. How hard where they to install? Looks like no one has them available until July or August.

My local dealer said the rubber bushings could not be purchased separately from the footrests. Apparently Steve was able to purchase them from his local dealer. I purchased them from a dealer in Mississippi (see post #6). Recommend giving the part numbers (see post #6) to your dealer and ask if they can order the bushings for you. If they can't then the dealer in Mississippi is an alternative source, but you'll have to pay shipping. Shipping to VA cost me 8 bucks and change.
