• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 RS-S SE5
added a Yosh R77 pipe. Excellent! Swapped the paper air filter for a K&N. Even better. especially from 5k on upward. BUT.... developed a flat spot when shifting at 4500 to 5000 and the sound is good but a bit louder than I like. So..... a trip to the local ACE Hardware store to purchase a 4.5 inch sink drain tailpiece. Drilled many, many 1/8" holes in the tail piece, closed the one end and pop riveted the thing to the end of the R77 baffle tube. Mostly eliminated the flat spot, and brought the volume dawn to a level my old ears can tolerate, even with the hearing aids.

Installed Fox Shocks on the front end. OOOOh, do I like them or what! Problem is they made the blown out rear shock seem sooo much worse. That'll get replaced this weekend.

I'll real soon have the machine where I want it. Then, to the Blue Ridge Parkway!!

Curious..!!

my Yoshimura R77 came with an extra baffle which you can install with a set screw. But you solved the problem :2thumbs: sounds like your almost where you want to be. Congrats..!!

Mine also had the "baffle". Nothing more than a short tube to confuse a small amount of the exhaust air while the greater amount goes straight out the pipe. My innovation forces the exhaust to exit through the many, many wee holes. Having gone to school on this one, I am actually going to make a new one with a bit different design of the hole pattern and a different method of closing of the end.

Since putting a K&N air filter in mine about 3 weeks ago, I notice it no longer backfires when downshifting (it was really bad about that, especially if I didn't downshift at a higher rpm than the auto-downshift). That paper air filter must have REALLY bad air flow is all I can figure.

Though a PITA to get into the air box to replace it, this is probably one of the best bangs for your buck!

Be interested to hear what you think of the new shocks. Mine still has the OEM RS shocks, and I'm satisfied with the handling and the ride (but perhaps I just don't have anything to compare it to, idk?).

About them there shocks.

Progressive no longer supports Spyder suspension. If you want 'em and can find 'em, you better buy 'em. But be careful of the year and model of your spyder for fitment.

I purchased the Fox shocks provided with the 2014 RS-S along with the rear shock body as mine was "blowed out". I LIKE 'EM! Good solid ride, but compliant, and in the twisties? Along with the BajaRon sway bar and links, Hardly any body sway. The inside wheel doesn't bounce around, so Nanny has no idea how fast I'm going. that's a good thing!
