• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stopped at a place today, took out the key had a soda and when I put the key back in it only went to the right then springed back to the off postistion. Had to keep putting it in and then it finally worked and turned on. Anyone else had this happen? And if so what is the cure?? Or what is the problem??

It is a 2010 RS-S and the ride was 150 miles the engine was only 3 bars warm so am mystified as to why and what.
 
Are you sure you weren't pushing it down a bit? It will spring back from the "Open Seat" or Open Trunk" positions. It doesn't take much downward force to engage the wrong functions...or at least the return spring.
 
Don't believe so as tried it again when I got home and had the same effect. But it dose seem it has to be positioned just right to work? Hope you have a solution as its never done this before today. And guess no one else has had it happen before as no comments.

I have never heard of it happening. Time to see your dealer if it can be duplicated.

A different question now- how are you all storing the key when not riding? Most keys are able to be slotted onto a key ring, but on this one only the plastic jacket can be put on a key ring. I know that the top part can't be drilled for this, but does anyone know if there is some sort of harness that can be put on the key top that can then be put on a key ring? Right now I have the plastic jacket on a ring, but dont really trust that over the long haul. Suggestions?

Isn't the top part of the key where all the digital stuff is that identifies it to the bike (maybe that is why it is so thick compared to a normal key)? If so drilling it for a key ring could be dangerous. God help us if we lose those keys!

Question: Drilling the key... Does that open up the hidden electronic wizardry contained inside to the elements?? :shocked: I'd really hate to think that one good soaking could monkey things up!

When you were given the key sheath , some of us bought their spyders used and didnt get one with the key :yikes: . Maybe I vget off my lazy rear end and should look into ordering one from the dealership HAHA
