There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I do my own oil changes, The filters i just get them from my dealer.
As far as what oil to use most people have their favorites.

I use Mobil 1 which I get at my local auto supply store for under $30.00. I also save on the filter by using HiFlo HF 564 which cost me $9.95 at my local motorcycle repair shop (not a dealer). Sealing washers are purchased at the auto parts store for a minimal amount.
My riding buddies tell me they pay over $200 for an oil change at our local dealership. I do my own for about $40 and get my local Quick Lube to dispose of the old oil for free. Grand Savings ... $160.
