• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LOL, actually, it went better than it appears, Snoopy. In only 24 hours nearly 800 people viewed this posting and I had 400 hits to my YouTube channel to view a quick 5 second video. Now that's what I call "INCREASED VISIBILITY", wouldn't you?:clap: If just one motorcyclist life is saved because of it (including my own), it was well worth the risk of getting a ticket from an Officer that has too much spare time on his hands. I'd rather get harassed by Sheriff Joe than be scraped off the windshield of my Spyder RT-S (or somebody else's windshield for that matter).

Important to note, neon/LED lights are illegal in some states, Blue/RED LED Gloryders "could" be considered illegal in other states, modulating headlights are also illegal in some states along with flashing brake lights. We all pick our poison and take our chances. But what do all the above products have in common besides they might look cool?

Modulating headlights are legal nationwide via a federal statute. No, I can't quote the statute offhand.

Ahh, you are correct. A guy at work who has a BMW with every accessory on it had told me they were illegal here in Arizona. I just looked at the Statues and it does indeed say they are legal to use during the daylight hours, but not at night. That's good to know, thanks.

The modulator I had on my Honda had a photo cell that would shut down the modulator at night.
 
Possible liability issue

If the flashers are illegal in a state you are visiting and if turning them on approaching an intersection causes confusion with a collision civil liabilty could result. Sounds farfetched but I've seen stranger things happen.
 
If approaching towards me (at an intersection or anywhere else!) you were to flash those things I'd assume there was some kind of emergency and you are a 1st responder and I'd try my best to clear the road quickly (ie. driving onto the shoulder and braking)... not cool, very not cool! :cus:

JMHO. Those things are going to cause trouble there are better ways to make your Spyder more noticeable on the road safely and legally in all 50 states. I know you think they're neat and a great idea, but the majority here don't seem to agree with you by my read. Also you could really piss other motorists off for scaring them, and after the crap that happened in New York last month with that biker gang... we who ride really don't need to be pissing other drivers off IMHO. :dontknow:

The lights are getting a lot of attention here in AZ. Several recent motorcycle accidents generated a safety story with local news channel. Good for you Lightning Strike. :clap::clap::clap::clap:


 
I do not see why white ones would not be legal in most if not all states. Same as the pulsating headlights I see all the time :thumbup:

I am not saying use one or the other Bob obviously awareness and tactical analysis comes first but using both can only help :thumbup: That is why I have additional reflectors on the saddles and rear. It may not stop someone running over me but It MIGHT get their attention before they do.

...and that is why soldiers in battle wear body armor...not because they replace tactics with technology, but because technology augments tactics.
 
My 2010 carried extra Brakelights out back too! :thumbup:
but a sound knowledge of tactics should, in my opinion; be first and foremost.
Add technology only to season the stew! ;)

Exactly, Magdave. It's not like we are never going to look left or right anymore just because we have an LED vest, extra brake lights, or Lightning Strikes on our Spyders for example. Can never be too safe!:thumbup:
