I spent 15 months in France when I was in the service, '62-'63. I assure you that I did just fine with those French ladies without needing any such device.

At first, I thought: "How cool. I need this for Valcourt next June!"

Then I realized I would need extras for every French speaking person I met - and would have a very difficult time holding them all down to stick one in their ear before they understood what I was trying to do! :roflblack:

This is an awesome idea. I work for the Canadian federal gov't in Ottawa where French, and English is spoken at all the meetings I attend. I don't speak French well, so I miss out on parts of the conversation. I can usually get the gist of the conversation, but a device like this would be golden. I can see a lot of governments buying the devices. No need for those translators that are so freakin boring to listen to.
