iMotorsports Quotes?

I personally went to my local dealer for the first service. After I dropped the bike of the service manager said the sales manager wanted to talk to me. He asked me why I didn't buy from him. I was honest and told him I was told by his salesman that I would have to wait for one to be put togather so I could try it out. After numerous phone calls too the salesman, each time telling me it wasn't ready yet, I was dropping my son of for a mission trip flying out of Ohare airport, had some tome to kill, had saw spyder advertised by motorsports so I went over there. I found what I liked, bought it, add never bothered to call the salesman back. In fact at that point I soul had not received a call saying they had one for me to ride.
He apologized and took me to the service manager and told him to take good care of me because he wanted me to buy the next one from them. He shook my hand and service was great.

it's not just about the cheap or cheaper price. it's about how was the bike put together? do you want someone who just slaps it together or someone who is actually trained and really cares about the end product.

there is always someone out there willing to sell you something cheaper. I learned a long time ago you get what you pay for. do your homework and find who you want to deal with first and then work on the price and see if you and the dealer can find a happy meeting place.
i agree and imotorsports would not have the reputation they have if they just slapped them togather.
There are also people who will not budge of of list price and rip you off.

The part that confuses me about this whole thread is that we have a sponsor of this site that it appears a lot of people have supported and purchased from, who treats people well, has a great service department, something we all desire in a dealer, and yet because he doesn't fit your opinion of a local dealer he is looked down on.

We should all be thanking them for their sponsorship and be supporting them!

I AGREE THEY OFFER GOOD DEALS BUT WHAT ABOUT SERVICE AFTER THE DEAL.

THEN EVERYONE WAMTS TO GO TO THEIR LOCAL DEALER AND BITCH CAUSE THEY HAVE TO WAIT.

YOUR LOCALS WILL TAKE CARE OF THEIR PURCHASERS FIRST. THAT'S THE BAD PART. BUT WHICH IS ALSO THE RIGHT THING TO DO

Thanks to all for your responses.

To those who bought from iMotorsports after negotiating with your local dealer ---- How does the dealer feel about servicing your Spyder now?
After buying my first spyder from a dealer in Texas, I went over and talked to my local dealer. I explained to them that i had tried to purchase from them, but the price was not even in the ball park. But if they gave me good service, I would be back again and again (as I am not a mechanic). I was assured that I would be their first priority. True to their word, they have been good to me, and been ready to match or beat any dealer in the area on parts or service. This was on my 2014 RT.
Step ahead to 3 weeks ago, I was having my 2014 RT serviced and I made the mistake of driving their 2016 F3T. They were more than happy to let me go out for a nice drive. After the test ride, I explained that I would be in the market if the price was right. Well, they made me an offer on the bike (left over 2016 without the audio). Their price was $4k more than the one I purchased from Imotorsports, with the audio. Needless to say, I didn't buy from the local guy. I talked to them since, and they appoligized and said they would still give me the great service that I have always received. On top of that, I get 10-15% discount on parts, and earn points toward every dollar spent that takes off the bottom line price.
We need to remember, repeat customers in their service dept. is where the money is.

I have been to my closest no budge on price dealer for a ufit adjustment. I will go to a different dealer for routine maintenance because of their labor cost $150/hr vs $80 . In my opinion they don't care to compete on anything... sales or service.

There's a lot to be said for buying from your LOCAL dealer. When you buy a Spyder you want to build a good working relationship with your local dealer. I personally found my local dealer came in thousands less than others out there.

I
respectfully disagree. Where one purchased the Spyder should have NO bearing on quality of service in the service department. Just because one part of the dealership is dysfunctional and cannot compete in the market does not give the other departments a free ride to offer poor service. Service work should be handled on a first come, first served or appointment basis. Some allowance for head of line to disabled travelers with down bikes but NOT for place of purchase.

I moved across the country and the new dealer took care of me like I bought a fleet of spyders from him. I think it all comes down to the individual dealer.

I wish all dealers were that way!

This will be my last comment on this topic I promise!! So let me get this right in my head, for all of the people who do not live there but buy from Pitbull Powersports when at Spyderfest, should not expect good service from their local dealers, and if you didn't by from Pitbull Powersports, you should be put at the end of the line when you go to Spyderferst.
We know that this isn't the way it happens, so what is it about imotorsports that would make this happen? Is it because they sell on line and ship to everywhere verses people having to drive to Pitbull? Is it because they sell cheaper than most others so as someone said here "you get what you pay for", so because they are cheaper they can't be good?
So if a local dealer didn't get your bussness when you purchased your Spyder he is going to treat you bad and not give you good service, how is he ever going to earn your business and make you want to purchase from him in the future? The answer is HE IS NOT, and therefor not a dealer you would want to give your service to anyway.
I read all this stuff about supporting your local dealer and then in the next post read about all of the people who have dealers close to them that are bad, so they in turn drive for hours to get to one who they like better. So if I have to buy from the local dealer even though his prices suck, I should then have to get all my service done at the same dealer even though his service sucks, after all what is the difference?
I do not have anything do do with imotorsports other than buying my Spyder there, but I hate to see it insinuated that they can't be good because they are not YOUR local dealer.

The local dealer will be the "go-to" guy; if things get ugly...
If he doesn't sell bikes, and drops the line... what are you going to do? :dontknow:

high price

That seems like a very high price for a place like Indiana. I live in Ventura, a very pricey place to live. Real Estate is expensive, Taxes are sky high and labor costs are high and my local dealer's list hourly is $109.00 and he has discounted it 10% for the one service and the accessories that I have had installed there.

I used to believe in the buy local. And I did buy mine from one of 3 branches of a local chain thinking I'd be better off. I'm happy with the deal I got and would consider another purchase from them but my experience is their service dept totally sucks, and I even hear that from 2 wheel buddies. Maybe they are ok with crotch rockets or whatever but certainly not Spyders and Wings. I do like the Svc Manager but they don't seem to have a good mechanic. I've had several issues including parts left out - like latest one I found my 2 lower frunk bolts were not there. It HAD to be the dealer when they were looking at frunk light 8000 miles ago. For every 1 person I hear something positive about any of 4 dealers within 60 miles of my house, I hear 5-10 negative stories and bad experiences. I just made the decision to go to a dealer 175 miles away where I know there is a competent and great mechanic backed by a good svc manager. Hell, they even give loaner machines so you can ride around while yours is being worked on.

In the future I would have absolutely no problem buying from any dealer I wanted and servicing at any other I choose. I think the buy local to service local just doesn't work anymore. It's almost like 2 separate entities. Get your best deal and then get your best service anywhere that may be. Do some research on service dept. You will spend more time there than the hour in the sales department over the course of ownership.
