• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Immobiliser or Alarm system

Hi everyone,
I just received my new insurance details for my 2011 RT LTD. I am living in Ireland and in small writing at the end of the policy it says that if the motorcycle is over €12,500 in value (which mine is) that unless it has an immobiliser or alarm it is not covered if it is stolen. So my question to you all is does the Spyder have the immobiliser? I have read where people say it is fitted with an anti theft device but I want to be sure so that if it is ever stolen I know I am covered. Isn't it amazing how they always manage to have it in tiny print at the bottom of the page :banghead:
Thank you for any help you can give me .

Yes it has;
It's in the key, At least in the USA, The key has a chip in it, with out that chip you can't start it, So i guess that is an immobiliser.?

Thank you so much guys you've been a great help. Spoke with insurance company and they accept that as immobiliser. I've asked for that in writing and they're sending out a letter confirming it to me.
This is such a terrific place to get help immediately. Thanks so much.

Wow! I've never heard of a clause that is so important being so well.... hidden before. :gaah:
I'm glad that you saw it! :thumbup:

I don't think the Immobliser is sold here in the US any more. They were marketed by Quorum International Dealers, as I use to be one many years ago. Had Immoblisers on some of my trucks.
Quorum had a motorcycle alarm/security system. If some jacked your bike from you, they got 30 seconds down the road when the bike quit and couldn't be restarted. :roflblack:
