• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm kinda bummed

Well, just called the dealer. Spyder has been there over a week. I got that funny little rattle when letting off the throttle and it progressed to a nasty sound when rolling to a stop. They say they are on it today though. Less than a week to my birthday and no Spyder to play on. Ain't looking good right now. Hope they figure it out soon. I don't like being a bummed out Spyder guy:(

Dealer just called back. They think the main bearing may be shot. Tearing it down today, order parts tomorrow. Get Spyder back middle of next week. No birthday ride for hawkiii.

:gaah::gaah: sorry, the joy that mechanical things can bring us:yes::yes: and how quickly we can be reminded that mechanical things break:yikes:
I hope you get the spyder back quickly...if it helps, i could take a ryde in your honor:dontknow::dontknow: happy birthday! and keep your chin up...your spyder will be home soon...better than ever:joke:

Tom, I feel for you and I understand completely. My Spyder has been at the shop pretty much since we got back from NC. Over Two weeks now. I am not happy. If I call tomorrow and they don't have some reasonable explanation, I will have to get Carlo involved again. Heck when I called last Wed. they said they hadn't even looked at it yet. I was livid, at that time they had it for a week and a half. Now it is two and a half weeks and they have not called me once. I don't care that there was a holiday weekend in there, I did not have my Spyder for the holiday and that does not make it any better. I hope you get yours back soon and thanks for letting me rant in your thread.

Deb, you can rant in my thread any time you like:thumbup:

Again with the extended shop visit? That is really a shame! Sorry to hear it.

What this time? Getting the belt/sprockets looked at I hope...

You're talking crank shaft main bearings? Wouldn't that be a lubrication issue? Not something you hear going out very often. Hope they can get it up and running quickly.

At a dealer for a week before even looking at it:lecturef_smilie:

And Deb not getting service:helpsmilie:

I'm hoping BRP is still working on the dealer network, this is ridiculous. It may come to a point where on our state boards we could have a thread for each dealer in each state so others could list their experiences with each dealer. Then it could be tracked and a person may have to go further for better service, or at least know what dealers are useless.

Yeah and it looks like they are going to get it covered under warranty, so I guess I can't complain. They have been in touch with BRP and now just getting all the parts to do the work. I talked to the service manager today. They got Brian's repair covered under warranty too.

Good to hear the money part is handled. The sprocket / belt swap should not take long, just hope the parts show up quickly.

It is suprising that both yours and Brian's spyder back for the same, I guess, as before. Both were in for several weeks if not months previously:yikes:..

It is nice to see a couple doing everything together.

* Ride Together
* Destroy Trailers Together
* Break Down Together

Kind of brings a little tear to the eye when you think about it... :D

hawkiii and Deb, please keep us posted on the progress of your repairs. I hope you all get your Spyders back soon.

If they haven't done it yet, check the belt too.

Hawkiii,
Someone mentioned a belt on your thread. Make sure they check the belt as well and get you another one ordered if needed. When my spyder was in the shop for such problems, it seemed as if they were not thinking that far ahead. Got the engine back together and "Then" decided to check the belt. Had to be replaced so wait again for parts. Total time involved in getting my machine back on the road? 3.5 months. :gaah:

Thanks Forrest, Brian's was only waiting a week this time. Mine a little longer, not sure why. But last time it was 6 months and that was excessive.

Ron you are just too funny. I had nothing to do with the trailer except wanting my stuff out of it.
