There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. With the LEDs on my Bumpskid...

There are times, when the left side LEDs will go out...
...yet other times; they light up normally...
Is there a way to look for a loose electrical connection between the two sides? :dontknow:

Or should I contact Harvey?

if the wires are feeding just from one side, i would say no, it is something on the inside circuit of the led strip

Call Harvey
 Yes'm...

EDIT: I just called, and Harvey is sending me a new Bumpskid.
Mine was five Months old. He has made changes to them, to make them even better!
Thanks Harvey!! You ARE the MAN!!

Neat! Now you have a new farkle to install.

Did Harvey speculate as to what the problem is with it? When I was at Netzley's this summer, they had one in the shop with the same kind of problem. They had installed it on some one's spyder and were waiting for a new one to re-install. Apparently it was a problem with some of the earlier units.

Harvey didn't go into detail with me... (Not that I would have understood it! :D)
He did say that they made a lot of changes to them...
And I just got an email that the new one is already in the mail!!:yes::yes:
Quick service!! :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

As the Inspector would say--problem sol-ved. :yes::yes:

Glad to see the prompt service and fix from Harvey.

Happy to say mine is working fine. It has been crash tested by a couple low flying road hazards, and losing the LED's was also a concern of mine. So far, they all work, all the time.

Another great product that I recommend as an early farkle.

Bob D..... I want to feed you some info I have been seeing recently. Nothing against vendors here.
As you know I tend to keep an eye on common reports of stuff not just here but on Facebook and NOT just Spyder related...

I have been seeing a RASH of reports of LED lights not working consistently all over Facebook recently!
For instance, the old round fenders people would put LED strips in the middle channel, Bump skid LEDs lights, etc....

Now, to add to this lets go into the RC Helicopter world where I am also a big follower.... People also use these LED strips for night flying.
LOTS of reports of this issue like this too recently!

I know all these vendors get these LED strips from China. I am speculating this is a supplier LED strip issue not a vendor issue. It's cropping up all over the place in the last 3 months and growing...

Just an observation on my part but I bet you a dollar this comes down to failed supplier LED strips out of China!

China has NO problems with dumping bad product on USA vendors.
I have seen it hundreds of times with LiPo battery packs, machines parts, etc... etc.... and the list is very long!

Every manufacturing process has fall out. China holds onto these initially and eats them.
Then when all looks good to the vendor, they DUMP the fall out...
TRUST... I have seen this so many times it really should become a trade issue!

I would love to hear from the vendors here as to their experience with these failures.... :)

Thanks for that info...
And I DO believe that there's a truckload of truth in your statements.

...But of course; I have no idea where these particular strips came from.

FYI, in 9 years of RC Helicopters.... I have seen so many LiPo battery pack companies go out of business because of the China "dump" on them.

Let me state.... A battery company contacts a LiPo manufacturing company in China and sets up a deal to make "branded" battery packs.
All goes great for 6 months and product is selling well and the battery company is all happy.

THEN... about 6 months later, or so, they start getting "branded" packs that fail like crazy!!!!

This is the China "dump" I am talking about. They for 6 months sent the "passed" battery cells to the battery company but they do not want to throw away the "not passed" cells. So what they do is after 6 months or so depending on how much they sell... DUMP the bad cells to that battery pack vendor.

Then, because of the RASH of failures and customer service, the company has to shut down.

Now this is only ONE story I can tell you... I know about CNC parts and other things related to RC Helicopters China has done this to a vendor! All good.... THEN they DUMP all the failed parts to that vendor and problems start happening...

Just letting you know the game going on.

It's not vendors like Tric-led etc's fault.... But it could put them out of business when every product they ship for months has problems... Customer support and returns EAT at any vendors product profit in today's economy.

China is NOT going to eat a say "10%" manufacturing fall out... Eventually they will "mix it in" with good parts to get rid of it!

I am telling you now...... I BET a dollar this is what is going on with the LED strips!

Sucks big time when they make crap to begin with. You are right dumping crappy crap will wipe out a good vendor.

:agree: And we do have a lot of VERY good vendors in here... nojoke
Several that come to mind immediately are Lamont, Reggy, Harvey, and Ron...
And there are many others; I just haven't had the pleasure of dealing with them. :D
