• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The seat release mechanism does not work anymore. I press the key down and I can not feel the tumbler anymore. It turns freely. All other tumbler works fine. Anyway to unlatch the seat in the meantime?

Seat latch hook

You can bend a coat hanger with a sweep that matches the curve of the tank then have a small hook down on the end. Slide it between the tank and the seat. Have the end go around the back of the post maybe a inch further. Lower the hanger and gently tug on things until it unlocks. It doesn't take a lot of force.

You should readjust your post and back seat hinge to get the post to line up good with the latch hole. If it is binding the key will just compress the cable and nothing will happen. Put a little oil on everything near the post and you should be good to go.

......If this doesn't work, you may have to remove the plastic cover that is under the ignition switch. There are two small bolts on each side. I think 10mm, use a small mirror to find them....after you get this off, the cable that goes to the ignition is on the right as you sit on the bike.....you may have to un-do it, so you can pull on it with vise-grips........after you get seat open, I would dis-able the seat latch, because the ignition switch is going to be very expensive to re-place .............I would also do something so you can open the frunk using a separate wire rather than the ignition switch......I did both of these things right after I got my RT because I feel the ignition switch shouldn't be used to do these tasks.....good luck....let us know what works ......Mike

Remove the right side cover by your right knee. 4 T30 torx screws. From there you can see the latch behind the front "wing" on the seat and should be able to get to the latch or the cable. Once you get it open I'd remove the pin from the seat until you get it fixed. Probably better sooner than later....

Key switch

I wish all 3 of those cables were not hooked to the ignition switch. Bad design!
