The nice thing about our kit is that if you go the cheaper route you can still upgrade later and use the bracket and spring. Only thing you need is the arm and pulley ($100).

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I installed the BRP one and it works like a charm. Easy install too. Hardest part is removing the panels.

I ordered through Two Jacks up in Wilkesbarre and they just installed. waiting to go pick it up!
I do like this one from http://dochumphreys.wixsite.com/roadster/ultimate-vibration-damper-products Is the BRP aluminum grade like dochumphreys? Otherwise, I prefer to get Doc Humphrey instead.

I posted this question in the past and again yesterday: Will this idler kit help with the awefull howl my belt makes around 65 and around 130???
( I ride in Germany, where the speeds are somewhat higher..) At my dealer we did various attempts with the tightness of the belt, to no avail.
I dont feel much of a vibration, but the belthowl is a pain, despite closed Shoei helmet!

Truthfully, I am not sure if it will fix the howl. I have had my '17 F3S Daytona up to 110 and other than a great deal of wind noise and exhaust sound, that was all. I think if I were you I would buy the cheaper BRP one first and if that fixes it, you can always buy the cheaper upgrade kit #1 and use the guts of the BRP kit.

Are you sure it's the belt? How many miles ?
I would check the front sprocket. Also could be a bearing.
Might also try some belt dressing/lube. Just a dab of synthetic grease often helps.

its kmh, or, as you call it, 'the un-real one'. But I do regularly cruise, with the Madstad-screen up, with around 155plus/minus kmh on clean stretches of Autobahn. We do have over 80 million people in a country barely larger than north Dakota, and still one can can find empty roads and even Autobahns. IF THERE WAS NOT THAT ANNOYING HOWL FROM THE BELT!!!!

The idler is still an accessory.
You have to realize that not everybody rides at the speeds where the harmonic vibrations occur.
It's more cost-effective for everybody, to address the need for it; only when it is actually needed... nojoke

My 17 F3 Limited did not have it. I purchased BRP's idler and installed it in less than 30 minutes. I had the vibration between speeds of 65 to 75 mph. It works like a charm.

I think anyone looking to buy an F3 should at least request the dealer fit the BRP Idler kit as part of the deal
Its cost is so small compared to the total purchase price I don't think any dealer would not be willing to do it

F3 idle kit failure
I bought my kit about 400 miles ago and it has developed a high pitch whine at 31-41 MPH. Any suggestions? Another thread has started on this issue stating that a bearing in the kit is bad.

Its still under warranty.....dont hassle something that they will replace:banghead:. Do it now, the riding season awaits you.
Just got home from my dealer and a long ride after he installed my BRP idler. My vibration issue 100% GONE! I also noticed the bike was smoother at lower speeds as well even after hitting bumps. I'm guessing when the rear tire/belt bounces from a bump the idler keeps the belt from bouncing too much. I still think BRP should have made the idler a warranty item but it was a cheap fix so thumbs up anyway. My thoughts.

Mine was the same for just 400 miles then the whine started. Took off the idler arm and the vibration was back but the whine was gone. Put it back on and the vibration was gone and the whine started again.

You could be correct. I dont know what the future brings but I wear hearing protection when I ride so I will probably never hear the whine you describe. I have over 300 miles with it and so far so good. The vibration is almost completely gone. For the $50.00 it cost to purchase and install I feel I got my monies worth. Do I spend 3x that on other brands that are built the same way? I don't have the answers but I'm happy so far.
