• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Idler Wheel Kit / Belt Tensioner Accessory for F3

We should STOP buying the RT's and just buy the F3'S. Benefits: lower cost & built in belt tensioner. I'm sure the tensioner will come standard on future F3's. If this happened what would BRO do with all the unsold RT's? Just a thought. RT owners unite and demand a tensioner!:gaah::gaah:

Buy what you want - but I'm not giving up my RT over a stupid belt tensioner.

Hi everyone,

We've got some great news for any F3 riders who have experienced some belt vibration at higher speeds.

As was discussed in this thread, BRP will in fact be offering an idler wheel kit (PN 219800412) accessory that will help reduce belt vibrations felt by some customers at certain cruising speeds.

The kit should be available this fall and its price is set at 34,99$ US/39,99$ CAN - note that this does not include installation time. Installation should take approximately 20 minutes.

This kit is only compatible with the F3 series of Spyders.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

hello Steve. When you said F3 includi F3S

thanks

BRP should come up with a retrofit shaft drive kit for the RT at a reasonable price. The RT has a goldwing price. It should ride as smooth as a goldwing.

From one Steve to another, thank you for this information in advance of release - greatly appreciated.:thumbup:

Cheers,
Steve

I would also appreciate BRP providing us with some definitive belt tension numbers for the F3 models and clear up all of the misconceptions. Many Spyder owners are capable of setting tension themselves using the Krikit gauges.

Hello Steve,

I hope BRP designs a tensioner for the 2015 RT, for the top of the belt. I have a tensioner on the bottom of the belt and still have vibration. It keeps Meg and I from taking long distance trips as the vibration is very annoying.

Tried tightening or loosening the belt, that only moves the speed at which the vibration occurs. Valcourt is coming up next year and really want to resolve this issue before the trip.

Are there any plans to design one for the RT? A search on the forums will reveal many others are experiencing this issue.

Thank You for monitoring the forums and keeping us apprised of new products to improve our Spyders.

Take Care, Louie

No--If you have this problem--they will call you a whiner ---by those who aren't experiencing the same problem. Then they ask you if you'd like some cheese to go with that whine---I find comments those totally disgusting--my wife says I lack empathy---she needs to meet the anti-whiners..who don't have the same problem. Yeah--I will continue to bust those that need it...

When I called my dealer to order, I was told it won't be available until 9/11, then a few days to him. Ugh, awful date....

Belt tensioner for the RS

Perhaps BRP could supply a cheaper alternative tensioner for the older original Spyders out there.

Yep that's what I got from my dealer also, but compared to sending $200 on a smoothspyder I will gladly wait:yes:

Ordered Mine today!!

Might you share here or via PM what dealer or ? did you place your order. I called three different dealers in three different states and was told by each that they are getting allot of requests to order, however BRP has not opened up ordering yet and they don't know when - so no pre-ordering.

BRP please give consideration for pre-ordering pre-paid.

I ordered mine from Rob's Performance in Johnson Creek, WI 920-699-3288. Tell them Brian sent you ;)

Will we be able to install this ourselves?

It looks like we should be able to according to the thread labeled "BRP belt tensioner" in this forum. There are pictures posted there and it amounts to taking out two bolts putting the tensioner in place and putting the bolts back in.:2excited:
