Ideal Kenda rear tire pressure

What have others found to be he ideal rear tire pressure on the stock Kenda to get the best wear and still be safe? 2015 RT limited.
Thanks in advance.

I only have a very limited experience with the stock tires (only got the bike a couple of months ago), but based on what I have been reading on the forum, you will get one of two answers.
1. Follow the advice on the sticker.
2. The ideal pressure is ZERO, as in ... don't even have a Kenda mounted.

Having only recently changed the tires (last week), I can't speak to safety or longevity, but handling difference is DRAMATIC with the new tires (Vred Q5).

.

We know what the factory suggest, however, their tire wears so uneven (center portion is worn out way before the rest of the tire). We were wondering if lower than recommended tire pressure would give more life to the tire.

Use the factory recommended pressure setting and wear that tire out as fast as possible and buy a good tire to replace it with. There is nothing more you can do.

I dunno about what others might think View, but I reckon the ONLY thing that will guarantee more life to a Kenda is taking it off before you even leave the dealer's showroom & then hanging it on a wall - as an ever-lasting monument to the

All-round/Overall Crappiest Factory Fitted Tire EVER!! :gaah:

And I've had the (dis)pleasure of testing a few really crappy tires in my time, but IMHO the OE Spec Kendas take out that 'Crappiest Ever' prize by a good mile! :banghead:

But then, that's just my opinion... YMMV  :lecturef_smilie:

:agree: 110% , and I do know something about tires..... that being said, I don't feel that they are dangerous for normal use. ..... They are good TEST tires to see if the alignment needs to be corrected ( very likely as we all know now ) ...... ride safe , ride happy ...and if possible, after they wear out, get some Auto tires as re-placements ... Mike

True BK911, they do basically 'work' sorta OK, and I must admit that some of them even do all the things they HAVE to do in order to get your Spyder/Ryker registered & on the road.... :sour: But IMHO, they don't do ANY of that stuff WELL at all - I feel they are effectively the bare minimum the manufacturer thought they could get away with; and to make matters worse, their lightweight construction & low level of quality control standards during construction means that they are prone to all sorts of issues that 'better quality' tires don't seem to experience to anywhere near the same extent!

So like I said View from Behind, if you really want your Kendas to have a longer life, then I reckon you should take 'em off your Spyder/Ryker & hang them on the wall as an everlasting monument to Crappy Tires! They'll do that absobloodylutely brilliantly for decades at least! :ohyea:

At least we're past the terrible version of the Crapenda that was manufactured sometime between 2012 and before 2014. That sneaker got absolutely atrocious mileage wear, so much worse than the post 2014 tires. The only thing one can possibly say in BRP's defense is that with the small number of Spyders on the road in comparison with automobiles that use the Spyder-sized tire, manufacturers of quality automobile tires just couldn't see it as a profit making endeavor. Fortunately we now have some well performing alternatives.

RE: Tire pressure...I do 26#...2# less than the recommended. The Kendas have a tendency to balloon in the center causing pre-mature wear. The lower pressure takes care of some of that.

What brand and size of tire do you recommend for a 2014 RT-S?

I use and have been satisfied with General Altimax RT 43 215/60 R15 and run it at 24psi. I'm on my second one, got 20K out of the first but had to change it early because I did not to know the max mileage I could get out of it and had a 5K+ tour coming up and didn't want to risk it wearing beyond safe limits during the trip.

I recently purchased a 2013 RT-L with 45 miles on it, yes forty-five miles on a 7 year-old machine. Apparently it had been sitting with close-to-flat tires for years so they all have flat spots. I did some research on this website and seems like everybody recommends something different than stock Kenda tires. The next day I ordered two Federal tires for the front and a Kumho AST for the rear, stock sizes. All tires replaced with odometer showed 85 miles. So far I like them, I did not have much experience with those Kenda's so i couldn't compare.
BTW, I don't trust my life on tires that say "MADE IN CHINA" on them.
Cheers.
